Not a suprise considering he was terminally ill for quite some time, but a great shame to lose such a talented actor and director. Easy Rider remains one of the most iconic films ever made. I loved his appearance as the villian in the first series of 24, and of course his astonishingly brilliant performance in Blue Velvet. Was only watching him get his star on the walk of fame a few months back with his best friend Jack Nicholson. RIP

RIP, such a brilliant actor.

RIP, such a brilliant actor.

A brilliant actor yes but an even better and hugely underrated director

So many good performances.

Blue Velvet (easily his best and scariest performance), Apocalypse Now, Red Rock West, Easy Rider, River's Edge, True Romance

Even his turn in Speed was great in an otherwise dire movie.

RIP Mr Hopper
