Extremely irritating now, but last year was all about this song in the clubs.

My favourite off The E.N.D. The X-Factor performance sealed this one for me.

I'm slightly embarrassed that "Get Sexy" was ever No.1. I do miss Keisha though.

I've heard this song so many times than when I hear the opening bars I cry. I hate it now.

I love this new "edgy" Rihanna and this video. She'll be high next year as well.

Ah, so the Gaga domination of my chart has begun. This is the lowest peak of her singles ever.

I love the video for this, it's probably why it's so high on this chart.

Alexandra is the best thing to come out of X-Factor. Love her album and this song never gets old.

 

17. CHERYL COLE - Fight For This Love [Peak - 1]

 

 

Ah, Chezza. Yes, she can't sing, but this song is undeniably awesome.

The flame-haired one is my favourite new act of last year. Can't wait for the follow up.

I love this song, shame it missed out on Top 10. Her songs are just perfect for screaming.

 

Well, the Top 10 has 3 entries from a certain Lady and also features a quiff and a small pair of shoes.

Yes, the radio edit is somewhat butchered but it is still 100000x better than Cheryl's solo output will ever be.

 

9. LA ROUX - In For The Kill [Peak - 3]

 

 

Cheapest video ever? I don't care, truly amazing song.

 

8. LADY GAGA - Bad Romance [Peak - 1]

 

 

This song was still at it's peak when last year finished, otherwise it would be without a doubt number one, as it has the highest points EVER on my chart. Song, video, live performance are all PERFECTION.

 

7. SHAKIRA - She Wolf [Peak - 2]

 

 

What a comeback. Awooooooooo.

 

6. LILY ALLEN - Not Fair [Peak - 1]

 

 

You gotta love naughty lyrics and this frankly unique tune always makes me smile.

5. BLACK EYED PEAS - Boom Boom Pow [Peak - 1]

 

 

When I first heard this, I knew it was an evolution in Hip-Hop. Now there's a million soundalikes, but this still is the best.

 

4. LITTLE BOOTS - Remedy [Peak -1]

 

 

Another bonafide RedOne production. I love Boots, think her single choices were a bit hit and miss however.

 

3. LADY GAGA - Paparazzi [Peak - 1]

 

 

My 2009 was dominated by Gaga. I've figured I've spent £150 on her in like 6 months! This is my favourite Gaga song as well!

 

2. LA ROUX - Bulletproof [Peak - 1]

 

 

Catchiest song ever? Love the video. I'm highly doubtful of the follow-up album however.

From the iconic opening of the video to the fact that my grandmother likes the song (even if she sings "cherry pie" instead of "can't read my"), this song defines 2009. Absolutely can't get enough of it STILL, it's the most played song on my I-Pod.
