Southend-based Get Cape Wear Cape Fly is the work of Sam Duckworth, whose commanding, authoritative vocals also possesses a gentle quality, and fuse beautifully with his enthusiastic strumming on acoustic guitar. Producer and friend Chris Bradshaw lends his technical know-how to bring out the best in Duckworth's songs, which – over the five tracks on this EP – cover an appealing range of styles.
Opener 'Whitewash Is Brainwash' sounds like a cross between Onelinedrawing and Hard-Fi, and elsewhere tones of late Dashboard Confessional and Conor Oberst's more technical output are evident. That is not to say Get Cape Wear Cape Fly is unoriginal. Far from it. There is a buzz throughout which underlines Duckworth's ability to write sincere, honest songs. Any concerns that the power of his words would be lost in over ambitious production are, thankfully, unfounded

so what do you think of this? Atlantic have just signed him up from Big Scary Monster Records. It's a great name, but do you think the tunes are much cop? Quite like 'Call Me Ishamel' the new single but think he might slip between two stools in peoples affections.

Brilliant track. I first heard about Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly on Zane Lowe and at first the track didn't do anything for me now, but I love it now.
