Well that was fcking boring. After Spain scored it was all over, you could tell Portugal lost it after that. Which makes me think the England - Germany game could've gone differently had that goal been allowed. Motivation is everything sometimes.

Queiroz needs to go.

That was a good match to watch, I'm glad Portugal are out, Spain played a blinder, they had so many chances at goal, narrowly missing, Portugal just lost the plot after Spain scored, they looked as if they couldn't be bothered to attack. Best team on the night won, I'm going to supoprt Spain in the next match with Paraguay, if they beat them they face Germany or Argentina in the semis.

I'll be supporting Holland for the win :) Tired of the same countries winning everything

Man of the match: Eduardo :D Well deserved

From wikipedia's Capdevilla article...

In June 2010 he also proved to be a top rate actor by successfully faking an ear injury in front of thousands of people and warranting the wonderful Republic of Portugal's National Team a red card - he is being tipped as a favourite for the next Oscar gala, featuring amidst such names as Jude Law, Cristiano Ronaldo and other such cheaters.

Thank yoooou

So am I, obviously :P

Capedevila lost my support last night. It was all pointless.

My prediction for semis:

Uruguay vs. Netherlands

Argentina vs. Spain

Mine.

Uruguay v Brazil

Argentina v Spain

England bigger than Germany

I'm afraid you've fallen for the little Englander tabloid media hype. Next you'll be telling me that the Premiership is the biggest & best league in the world.

Anyway today's matches saw my Work & Pub random Sweepstake country (in both) Paraguay still alive after a borefest against Japan; and again no goals at half time between Portugal & Spain.

A much better match, but Fernando Torres is doing his best Wayne Rooney impersonation = his movement is a bit sluggish, he is shockingly out of form and he looks like he does not want to be there. Maybe, he has already had a phone call from Roy Hodgson to fill him with confidence for the next season ... not. Portugal's defence reminds me of a crowded parked bus = difficult to get through.

It is the best league, isn't it :kink:? I have no idea, really :P I guess it's probably Serie A? But I would've thought that the amount of revenue the English team brings in would be close to the amount the Germans bring in?

Serie A is well below La Liga, the Bundesliga and the Premier League. The Championship is a better league that Serie A. I think I tried to watch about a dozen matches on ESPN last year and managed to get through more than half an hour in one. It's stupidly dull, makes Japan vs Paraguy look exciting.

I predict that Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil and Spain go through. I'm routing for the other four though....

The first half has ended and Brazil is beating Netherlands by 1-0. ^_^

I predict:

Brazil x Ghana

Germany x Paraguay

blooper by the brazilian goalkeeper its a draw now 1-1
lol Netherlands is winning by 2-1 now. :o
Its going to be a repeat of the 1978 final with Argentina me thinks, surely Holland will easily beat Uruguay or Ghana in the semis.
HOLLAND!!!!!!!! :cheer:

May I add another couple of :cheer: :cheer:

I'm so glad they beat Brazil.
