Wow!

I assume he had Iniesta and at least one Spanish defender in his team?

Just had it confirmed he won by over 300 points. He had 10 Spaniards & Roben in his team. :yahoo:

He'll have to be nice to me as the team is in my name.

Still, Spain were helped a lot throughout the cup... Their goal against Portugal was offside, maybe the morale of our team would've been different since that was the turning point for them.
:banghead: Aaagghhhhhhhhhhh

Is all I can say atm..!

Apologies to the Netherlands. Seems our referee is as poor as our footballers.

I'm sorry, but everyone saying Spain had the better team tonight... The Netherlands were better if you ask me ... Such a shame.. But they still did amazing, as it was the first time in 32 years they were in the final of a world cup!
The goal they made was off sides.. Or am I just blind!?

The goal wasn't offside.

Inieste was passively offside at the moment of the first pass but a Dutch defender got the ball and Iniesta didn't touch the ball so a new situation was created. And he wasn't offside during the pass that led to the goal.

Good to see that the right team won. WTF was De Jong thinking? And van Bommel shouldn't even be allowed to play football anymore unless someone tells him that the goal of the sport isn't to injure as many players as possible.

What are you on about?!

I think that referees have their best games when they have very few big decisions to make, like in Webb's first three matches and other good refereeing performances at the World Cup. When there were as many incidents as yesterday no ref is going to get them all correct, and I think the majority of World Cup refs would've had a worse game yesterday. He tried to let it flow as much as he could but the players wouldn't allow that, he had to keep giving free kicks and booking people. Yes, he issued 14 cards, but how many were not deserved? I count zero. Every single one of them was at least a yellow card offence. Yes, he could've sent De Jong, Van Bommel, Robben, Puyol and Iniesta off too, but could you imagine the outrage if a World Cup final was allowed to end with so few players on the pitch?!

All I think he got wrong was, De Jong's booking (should've been a straight red, maybe he wasn't at the best angle?), the corner which was a goal kick (I don't see how you couldn't have seen the deflection) and not sending Robben off (he kicked the ball away, he should've given a yellow for consistancy's sake - he gave Xavi(?) one for the same thing). Puyol should probably have gone, but I doubt he'd have seen it given that the contact was infront of Puyol and Pique was running behind them, and why didn't Robben go down? Because he was trying to cheat his way to a penalty and not a free-kick! I don't think there's any player who wasn't trying to buy fouls yesterday. It was a very poor spectacle and a much harder game to referee than any of the other 40 odd games of the World Cup I saw!

The :banghead: was also for the game itself..

I can handle the fact that 'we' lost..but to be honest the match sucked big time and it seemed like both teams couldn't shake of their nerves..Wasn't a proud Dutchie watching the game tbh..! Spain was (slightly) better so I have to say they deserved the win!

Final was dull as.

Iniesta is my favourite player in the world, but I just wish he didn't play act all the time. Was a beautifuly taken goal, and Spain were the better team so they definitely deservered to win.

Webb was excellent. He gave so many yellow cards to keep consistency, and well on him. Spain's goal was fortunate because it came about of the wrong decision, but that's just football unfortunately. This Spain team is the best in the world, and i'd be extrememly surprised if Spain EVER have as good a team as they have at the moment.
