'Waka Waka' has really grown on me since Shakira performed at the World Cup concert last Friday night. Plus there's a strong chance of Shakira climbing up my chart next week as the Eurovision domination starts to dry up.

I actually think 'Not Afraid' is Eminem's best song in a while - I still don't think it's anywhere near his best tracks like 'Stan' and 'Lose Yourself'. Eminem has proved to be one of those rare artists who can score a hit regardless of quality of song. By that I mean 'Crack A Bottle' from last year. Dreadful song!!! :puke: This is much better in comparison.

It was bound to happen. After the Eurovision Song Contest, only the tracks I really like spend a few weeks in the chart. Any tracks that enter low don't have the same impact and tail off quciker. A couple of Eurovision entries from last week have already exited my chart.

Totally agree, it's by far the best of the football related anthems released this year. To be honest, I don't have any problems with 'Three Lions', 'World In Motion' or 'Vindaloo' charting again - they're three great footie anthems. It's The Squad 'Three Lions 2010' that I can't stand listening too. How an artist can take their own song and destroy it, I can't understand why you'd want to do that.

I think most Buzzjack posters will think this because of Hayley Williams from Paramore providing vocals. Personally, I prefer 'Nothin' On You' as it's far more catchy and memorable, imo. 'Airplanes' seems to be very much of the now but it probably will become a hit in its own right. Do I see 'Airplanes' going to no. 1 in my chart? No!!!

You perv!!! :P ...but I agree. :P :lol: Shakira looks stunning in the 'Waka Waka' video. This is type of Shakira music I enjoy - the songs influenced from world cultures and different instruments being used. I'd rather listen to this on repeat for a day than listen to that dreadful 'Did It Again' just once (as 'DIA' had no melody whatsoever).

Mumford & Sons to win the Mercury Music Prize 2010...and make up for their disastrous winner from last year. I can see Mumford & Sons enjoying Elbow era 2008 style success if they won. Their album might even hit no. 1 as this must be the fifth (?) single but all singles have charted for me since 'Little Lion Man' last year. 'The Cave' is still by far their best track for me.

I adore 'Wavin' Flag' and after two weeks at no. 1 in my Pre-Release chart is was always going to do well. I'm just happy that the track has taken off in the UK and looks set to be top 5 at least in todays UK chart.

It's been a really interesting project from Ash releasing a new single every fortnight. Their most successful from this era has been 'Arcadia' which peaked at #12 for me. Still doesn't beat their best peak in my chart which was 'Starcrossed' in 2004 which made no. 2 in my chart.

I'm sure there must be a couple of others who have charted 'Feel It In My Bones'. It's not that bad a song - certainly good enough to make my top 40. Same with Delphic although it follows two top 10 hits ('Doubt' (no. 5) and 'Halcyon' (no. 6). 'Counterpoint' has a great production but the song itself is a bit on the flat side and lacks a soaring chorus. It's still alright though.

I do have a soft spot for Katie Melua. As I've posted before, she's not considerd to be a credible artist but I sort of like her pleasant approach to music. However, 'The Flood' really does take things to a new level. I got a complete shock listening to this where the track suddenly goes uptempo. It was a good shock though. :D

 

07 (06) Jessy Matador - Allez Ola Ole (06-07) [2 wks] Such a great party anthem, and overtaken Stromae this week!

 

Well Stromae has been around for 11 weeks already so it's going to start tailing off as more new tracks enter each week. Jessy Matador's track was also ahead of Stromae last week anyways!!! :P It's just a brilliant uplifting party track. What I do find surprising is that by climbing to no. 1 in France this week, it's the first time ever a French Eurovision entry has gone on to top their singles chart. :o

Iirc, Eminem's last top 10 hit for me was 'When I'm Gone' in 2007. Why did you stop your personal chart anyways?

I'm with you on the top 3 Eminem songs - I'm far from being a fan of his but I can't deny that Stan, Lose Yourself and Like Toy Soldiers are all very strong. Sometimes though, he just comes out with complete and utter crap - Ass Like That/Crack A Bottle anyone? :mellow:

 

:lol: Well Leona did sing "keep bleeding, i keep keep bleeding love". So who knows. Maybe Leona will record a cover of 'Drip Drop' for her third album. Or reissue of 'Echo' (whichever comes first :P ).

 

I don't mind Eminem when he does silly songs that are supposed to be funny. 'The Real Slim Shady' was a brilliant example of Eminem showing off his humorous side. That'd be my fourth fave track of his. 'Ass Like That' was just embarrassing and 'Crack A Bottle' (whilst slightly more tolerable to my ears) lacked anything to make me appreciate how good the "song" was. 'We Made You' wasn't bad though.
