Keep dreaming, I doubt either will get to #1 :drama: :(

Yolanda top ten for sure but probably #3-#6, and Stromae if it fails to get Radio 1 support will flop. If it does then again, mid top ten, but I doubt it would go to #1. Two simultaneous foreign language top ten hits would be great though, but I'm still not convinced it will happen

I think Yolanda could go top 3 myself but if its against Travie McCoy then my gut feeling is Travie would win.

I agree it would be great to have two foreign language tracks in the top 10 at the same time. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it gets Radio 1 support (i think it could get TV support like on the box), I'd be very disappointed if it doesnt even go top 10 (its now 606 on itunes so good sign but I should think the label will take off the album nearer the time.

Having now heard Eminem feat. Rihanna 'Love The Way You Lie' (it's actually really good with a strong chorus) I have a gut feeling this is going to take off like it has on Irish iTunes. Could be this years 'Empire State Of Mind' and sell really well thanks to being cherry picked from 'Relapse'. Definitely one to watch imo.
It'd also be excellent if Yolanda Be Cool got to no. 1 for one week with Stromae topping the charts the following week. Would surely be a rare feat where two non-English language tracks have topped the UK chart back to back. :D

I'd really love this to happen, although I doubt it will. :( In today's society, with the Internet and everything, I'm surprised that so many amazing foreign songs are going unnoticed by the UK public, when all these songs are there, on youtube, facebook, etc. and many of them are Lady Gaga/Black Eyed Peas standard, and so easy to access, if just people knew they existed.

Like I was bored, so I was listening to all the Japanese number-ones from the past few years, most of which I've never heard of, and some of the songs are just so amazing! What I found very random, was that Blame it on the Girls by Mika got to number-one there! Don't have a clue how it did so well there. It didn't even get top 40 in the UK, and Mika is British.

Anyway, I'm digressing a bit. I think it'd be great to have two foreign language hits at the same time, but I have doubts about whether it will happen. :(

True, but IMO the vast majority of the public aren't interested in looking at foreign music or care what's #1 in Germany or France. In the UK unless something is in your face via TV or radio it very rarely sells. Having said that, there must be some interest in it as it wouldn't be climbing itunes. Just think what it could do if TV/radio pick it up. Like you say though, its a shame so many foreign songs go unreleased here, some would be MASSIVE with promo, I just think of so many missed opportunities :(

Yeah, I agree.

And with Stromae's song, I think it'll do well if advertised properly. It's a good song, so as long as people know it exists, I think it will sell well. But will it get good promotion? I guess we'll have to see.

Katy Perry ft. Snoop Dogg - California Gurls and JLS - The Club Is Alive are the only surefire imo...

Maybe: Taio Cruz - Dynamite, Robbie Williams ft. Gary Barlow - Shame (not even leaked/premiered yet, but the hype of these two working together again = HIT), Kylie Minogue - Get Out Of My Way, The Saturdays - Missing You and B.o.B. ft. Hayley Williams - Airplanes

My predictions for each weeks big releases:

21st June:

Katy Perry - California Gurls - 1

Scissor Sisters - Fire With Fire - 7

28th June:

Enrique Iglesias - I Like It - 6

Kelly Rowland - Commander - 8

Lady Gaga - Alejandro - 3

M.I.A. - XXXO - 16

5th Jul:

3oh!3 ft. Ke$ha - My First Kiss - 5

Eliza Doolittle - Pack Up - 14

JLS - Club Is Alive - 1 (obv )

12th Jul:

Basshunter - Saturday - 9

Diana Vickers - Boy Who Murdered Love - 6

Professor Green - Just Be Good To Green - 2 (maybe 1, depends how JLS sell week 1)

19th Jul:

Quiet week

26th Jul:

Travis McCoy ft. Bruno Mars - Billionaire - 1

The Wanted - All Time Low - 6

Yolanda B Cool - We No Speak Americano - 4

2nd Aug:

Quiet week

9th Aug:

B.o.B. ft. Hayley Williams - Airplanes - 1

The Saturdays - Missing You - 2 (if the release is pushed back/forward a week, could seriously be number 1)

Maroon 5 'Misery' sounds as tho it could be huge! Not out until next week but lets just say i know someone who gave me a little preview and it really goes back to their Songs about Jane days with 'This Love'.

the song is just awful

Its qualifications for #1 just keep getting stronger & stronger...

I hope Scissor Sisters will be at least top 5.
I don't think JLS will be #1, that song is incredibly bad. I think Katy will block them , she'll probably be #1 for weeks.

It's JLS. If they released the album of their best farts, their fans would still buy it.

Eminem's track with Rihanna is going to be massive! I usually hate Eminem but even I like it.

Katy and JLS seem to be the obvious #1s. I haven't heard Billionaire yet so I can't comment but it sounds horrendous just from the artist performing it :puke:

I'm not sure on anything else though which means we'll probably have more surprise 1 week #1s that fall heavily down the chart.

I can't see Katy Perry making no1. It will peak inside top5. Its not as strong as her other stuff but still a good tune.
