Posted June 20, 201015 yr This has SHOT to #1 on iTunes Sweden and is also available on UK iTunes should anybody want it. A duet between Agnes and two time Swedish Eurovision entrant (and pop legend) Björn Skifs. The song was written specifically and performed at the Swedish royal wedding which happened yesterday. Loads of stars have written singles especially for the event, which is apparently the biggest royal wedding in Europe since Charles and Diana!!! Other new songs are about from Carola, Darin and Salem Al Fakir, but this is my favourite, and I love how Agnes gets to perform the official wedding single!!! Testament to how well respected she is in Sweden, probably because of her international success with Release Me. The song is a very Disney-ish ballad written by Jorgen Elofsson who wrote Sometimes and Crazy for Britney, most of Westlife's singles, a few singles by Leona Lewis, Steps, Shayne Ward and Will Young. Don't rule this out of being covered by future X Factor contestants or appearing on an album/as a single of a SyCo artist. Very strong ballad in my opinion, and obviously being the official single of the royal wedding, will be to Sweden what Candle In The Wind was to the UK (well except that it's for a wedding not a funeral). June 20, 201015 yr it sounds so much like a Disney song. I love Agnes though; not keen on Bjorn though. However, it is a nice song.
June 20, 201015 yr Author Bjorn sounds better on the studio version imo, which is very strong indeed. Not up on Youtube I don't think though
July 2, 201015 yr Author This has just gone to #1 in Sweden officially - finally giving Agnes her second chart topper :cheer: Release Me peaked at #9 there  Here's the studio version of the song seeing as it hasn't already been posted; _P7EbCM70rI
July 2, 201015 yr What was Agnes' first Swedish #1? Anyway, I like this song a lot, but I think a lot of it's success is due to Bjorn rather than her. He's pretty awesome tbh, check out some of his old Melodifestivalen entries on YouTube, like Michaelangelo and Fangad I En Drom...

I know those songs, I have the Absolute Schlager CD remember :funky: It would have been #1 by her solo to be honest, it's the official wedding single, sung live at the royal wedding, anything with that sort of mass exposure would have gone to #1, had it been Agnes by herself, Agnes & Bjorn, or Py Backman :heehee:
July 14, 201015 yr I much prefer the arrangement of the version performed at the wedding, shame about Bjorn's vocals. Sorry for the bump but theres a version on Swedish itunes called the Church version and it's the one that's still riding high on itunes. It seems to be a studio recording of the church version, and while judging by the 30 second clip it seems to just be a sloppy remake of the radio edit, I'd still be interested to hear it. Anybody know how I can get hold of it??

It disappeared from #1 out of the chart altogether and then this 'Church version' started picking up steam in its place. It's not on our iTunes either way so I don't know what to advise :( I wasn't a fan of the live version anyway, both sounded a bit ropey, Bjorn in particular. Love the studio still though

But I much prefer the arrangement, it's much more atmospheric, and less formulaic sounding than the studio version.
