July 11, 200619 yr It's not so black and white! There are some that are (reading/leads/Virgin) and some that are not (Big Chill, Glade, Secret Garden Party) and then some in the middle (Glastonbury, Ashton Court, Guilford)
July 11, 200619 yr The question you're referring to (from Uncut) was in terms of playing festivals anyway... I doubt anyone on Buzzjack is in a position to say yay or nay from that point of view.
July 11, 200619 yr Author The question you're referring to (from Uncut) was in terms of playing festivals anyway... So actaully somebody who bothers to read uncut i dont i just keep the CD and dont really bother with the mag. thought it was a alright question to ask though
July 11, 200619 yr Ha, I had 2 hours to kill waiting around for an appointment and it was the only decent magazine in the shop.
July 11, 200619 yr i'm not against Uncut.. just doen't seem to be enough bands I like that they talk about so don't bother picking it up... I also don't really care much about interviews etc these days... i just want to hear music. A good mag to me is one that let's me know about new bands and Uncut sticks to bands I already know about nearly all the time...
July 11, 200619 yr Yup, Uncut is for those who already know what they like. NME (which gets worse and worse) aside, you might like to check out Plan B or Clash.
July 11, 200619 yr Most have certainly become that way... When you see c**p like the "02 Wireless" festival, "T In The Park" or the "V" Festival (V standing for "Virgin" by the way...) and you see the pathetic corporate events that the once proud names such as Glastonbury (in thrall to Vince Power and the Mean Fiddler group) and Reading (who'll sell its soul to anyone these days it seems..) have become, then you have to say that, yeah, most have become that way and it's a real shame; especially when you look at the interchangeable lineups and you just get the same bands playing at pretty much all the festivals....
