Of course, there's always............

1) Fleetwood Mac - Storms

2) Fleetwood Mac - Silver Springs

3) Stevie Nicks - If I Were You

I shall start with

4) The Human League - You Remind Me Of Gold (1982) B Side To 'Mirror Man'

Spooky - that's one of my favourite b-sides ever, too.

There's lots... for the moment...

1. Alison Moyet - If You Don't Come Back To Me (the stunning Massive Attack-influenced stand-out track from her best album, Hometime)

2. Soft Cell - Martin - released as a giveaway 12" with Art of Falling Apart - great, great track

3. David Sylvian - Nostalgia - the best track from his solo debut, Brilliant Trees

4. Cocteau Twins - I Wear Your Ring - unbelievably beautiful track from heaven or Las Vegas... hmm mmh

5. Kate Bush - Sunset - it's obvious she made some very wrong choices with Aerial - not releasing this as single number one was her biggest

6. Blondie - The Hardest part - think this may have been a single in some countries, but this, the best track from Eat to the Beat, should've been a UK single too.

7. Bananarama - True Confessions - the brilliant title track from their mid 80s album - just really great, this track

8. The Smiths - Barbarism Begins at Home - from Meat is Murder - The Smiths get funky? Yep, and it sounds wonderful.

9. Morrissey - Now My Heart Is Full - beautiful track from Vauxhall and I... and lyrically... just genius.

10. Morrissey - Trouble Loves Me- standout, in fact, ONLY good track from Maladjusted - this is a true Moz classic... stunning stuff.

11.Depeche Mode - Black Celebration - from, IMO, their finest album - absolutely love this track.

12. Madonna - Sanctuary - from her much maligned but, IMO, one of her finest, albums Bedtime Stories - love this one.

13. Pet Shop Boys - Two Divided by Zero - from their debut - brilliant, wasted as an album track.

14. Jesus Loves You - I Specialise in Loneliness - from The Martyr Mantras - IMO George's best ever song - perfect

15. The Sisters of Mercy - Marian - from their debut First and Last and Always - this so, so should've been a single - chillingly.... dark :P

The Man-Paul McCartney/Michael Jackson

Edited by little ern

michael jackson - fly away & you can cry on my shoulder

bjork - who is it (vitalic remix).. not on any album but amazing anyway

kate bush - there goes a tenner (which although it was released as a single it should have done much better!)

edited to remove non retro suggestions. its the RETRO forum, ie pre - y2k.

Janet Jackson feat. Kanye West - My Baby

From Damita Jo. Great song and dunno why this was never a single as it featured the fresh talent called Kanye West.

Michael Jackson has loads...For example Streetwalker which was recorded during the Bad sessions but only a B side.

Elbow - The Fix

From the Mercury Prize winning The Seldom Seen Kid which sold very well but there were no hit singles. This could've been the one.
