Posted March 19, 200619 yr Does anyone else like Nighty Night? http://img.tesco.com/pi/entertainment/DVD/LF/687225_DV_L_F.jpg I think it’s one of the funniest comedies ever. :D :D Ok, for those who’ve never seen it I’ll try and sell it a bit. Jill Tyrell is a salon owner, her husband is diagnosed with cancer. So hearing this and with him getting treatment the first thing she does is…join a dating agency. She tells everyone she knows that he died, even telling him that he’s dying when in fact he’s on the mend. She then sets her site on new neighbour Don. But he’s married to Cath who has MS. Through the series she tries to break up his marriage, bury her "husband" and because he's messing up her plans she eventually kill him anyway. In series 2, Cath and Don have moved away from Jill but she follows them to Cornwall and continues to find Don. She is obsessed with being with him even though he doesn't like her at all! Jill stops at nothing to get him. When he has a vasectomy? She breaks into the hospital while he’s under anaesthetic and wanks him off in order to get his last sperm so she can impregnate herself. When he has a teenage girlfriend she gives her a botch nose job. When she fails to get pregnant, she tries to seduce Cath and Don’s 12-year-old son then fakes that she’s pregnant by him to move back into their house. It’s such a mad show and so darkly funny and…really it’s just awesome. Though not to everyone’s taste but it’s a very funny series. I'm not sure if series 2 will ever be on BBC2 but series 1 was so watch out for it. Edited April 7, 200619 yr by Daffs
March 19, 200619 yr DO I? I adore this show. Julia wrote series 1 so well it was an instant classic the way she treats people is soo funny.Faking her husbands own funeral is classic too!.I have series 1 on dvd just now cant wait for series 2 dvd (15 days to go! wahoo)
March 19, 200619 yr indeed it was hilarious, these drama/comedies work best when they are done straight, no audience, then a cuttingly hilarious scene pops in.. im soooo waiting for seriese 2... perhaps it was crap?..
March 19, 200619 yr Jeez me heez. This is like my favourite show ever! People said series 2 was a bit $h!t and on a first look it is. But I've watched it a few times now and there are some absolutely great lines in there! Absolutely love it. I love in series 2, the whole scene for he widowers group. "I'm still a bit shakey round women." "That'll be your Parkinsons." "I don't have Parkinsons." "That's just the alzheimers speaking."
March 19, 200619 yr Series 2 was really bad on first viewing comparing to Series 1. BUt Series 2 isn't as bad as people may say. "Papa's doing something that he shouldn't on the lawn".
March 19, 200619 yr Author I'm glad people like it! :D The was a whole lot of fuss about series 2 not being good. Fair enough it is a bit different but I really love series 2 a lot and think it was hilarious - which is the main thing. I love when she gives Judy a quick tidy up downstiars. "I cant do anything for you facially Judy, OK...but Linda will give you a bit of a tidy up downstairs. Dear me, looks like you've been growing this for years Judy. It's very matted, as is we could try for the Dairylea but I think we're looking at quite a hefty bommerang. Linda is wearing goggles, YOU need to wear goggles because if she were to slip...it would blind you" I LOVE Sue. How many of those have you had Sue? 2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/nightynight/images/200/s2_ep4b.jpg I can't wait for the DVD, it's got so many cool extra features on it. I reckon it'll be on BBC2 in April.

April 7, 200619 yr Author Series 2 starts on Thursday the 13th April at 10pm on BBC2. I'm strangely excited despite seeing the series a few times. Watch it though for a great unique comedy.
April 13, 200619 yr Just watched the first episode of series 2 on BBC 2 and it's been re edited. First of all, the picture quality has been changed so it's more grainy and looks more like the first series. There were a few bits changed as well. In the first scene, there were a few extra shots, and there was an extra bit where Jill had some chocolates. Also, she didn't say Chip and PIN! Also, she missed out possibly my favourite line from the whole series when she says; "With all die respect Linda, you lost your cherry to a dog." "It was nice." "It woulda been. Even with the very small dogs, after that, most men just don't match up." And also, the caravan scene was changed a bit, but personally I preferred it before. There a few other bits but I can't be bothered commenting on them all. Personally I preferred the original version, except I thought the opening scene was greatly improved. Also, I liked the change in the picture quality, it suits the show much better. I wonder which version will be on the DVD? Also, I wonder who's decision it was to re-edit it. I know Julia Davis said she wasn't pleased with the out come of series 2 so maybe that's why it took so long to get to BB2 because she was re editing it.
