Sadly my tour buddy can't make it so I'm all on my lonesome. :( Have a spare ticket & bed in a hotel in central Rochester.

There was an incident involving a roadie(?) backstage. Paramedics and police asking for witnesses. Hope the guy is ok.

Yes it seems to have been quite a scary time...hope whoever was hurt is alright now.

The first support has been on and there seems to be another :blink:... waiting to for Will.

KENT NEWS: A stage worker went into cardiac arrest after falling and suffering severe injuries last tonight at a Will Young concert.

 

Some reports at the show said he may have died, but Kent police have not confirmed this.

 

The singer was to perform an open-air concert in the gardens of Rochester Castle in Kent.

 

The show was due to start at 7pm, but it was over an hour later before his support band took to the stage.

 

Before the show started, an appeal was made over the public address system asking for witnesses who may have seen the incident to come forward.

 

Police would only say there had been a “health and safety incident” at the event, but reports at the concert suggested the incident had been a fatal one.

 

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “A male stage hand in his 40s fell from the stage.

 

“He suffered severe facial and head injuries and there was a lot of bleeding. We got the call at 17.41 and arrived on the scene six minutes later.

 

“By this time the man had gone into cardiac arrest and he was rushed to the Medway Hospital in Gillingham.”

 

She said she had no information on his condition after the hospital took over the situation.

Yep. At least they carried on - it could so easily have been cancelled.

The Medway radio breakfast show presenter Andy Walker - whose tweets I posted earlier - says on the radio station site that he will be talking about the gig tomorrow morning on his show.

 

So perhaps we'll hear a bit more about what happened from TT and the girls on Devoted. He only left out two songs Let it Go and You Don't Know both slowies.
