Posted June 29, 201015 yr I was wondering that in the US, 2006-present, downloads how many of them count for normal copies ,2005-past. like for instance Britney Spears' Womanizer sold 3m if it were released before the download era what will the sales be.
June 29, 201015 yr It would be 3 million? A download is equal to one unit, which is equivalent to buying one single. Before 2005 sales did not affect the charts as much as they do now.
July 1, 201015 yr And it's that before downloads you could really only buy the physical copy of the single and we all know physicals died years ago in the U.S.
July 1, 201015 yr It would be 3 million? No it wouldn't. It's so much easier to get a download now, I don't think all 3 million would bother to go get the physical.
July 16, 201015 yr Author Airplay points still don't affect the sales of a single. But I thought there are 3 components of making the hot 100 billboard, hence sales. So why won't airlpay effect certicifaction.
