June 30, 201015 yr Even Katy Perry can't penetrate the football top three there :o Amazing top five, seriously - features four of my current personal chart top five, and I like the Safri Duo song too!
July 1, 201015 yr Yan's German chart comments - Issue date 25.06 There may be a change at the top of the singles chart this week, but The World Cup continues to be dictating the music taste in Germany. So Coca Cola's anthem "Wavin' Flag" falls to #2 after three non-consecutive weeks at the top, leading way to the official song of the South African tournament "Waka Waka" by Shakira to take the reign. This is the fourth #1 song of the Colombian singer in Germany after her debut "Whenever Wherever"; "Hips Don't Lie" and "Beautiful Liar". The top three is rounded by the collaboration between Safri Duo and Velile, the music of which is used by RTL when broadcasting about the football finals. Also due to "king football" German rapper Bushido (who last week was also new to the charts with a song with Fler) brings a new single directly at #6. "Fackeln im Wind 2010" becomes the fifth single of Bushido to make it to the top ten. Jessy Matador, the singer who represented France in the Eurovision contest, brings his song "Allez Ola Olé" new to the charts at #17. It is however debatable whether the song is so high due to its own merits (doubt it), the Eurovision (where it was not so successful) or simply because it is unashamedly perfect for the football fever around the country. Another song from the 21!!! football-related songs in the Top 100 worth mentioning is "Gimme Hope Joachim" by Basta which soars 30 places to peak at #24 this week. This week we cannot however complain about the lack of "proper" new entries with pop divas Katie Perry and Kylie Minogue returning quite successfully to the top ten. "California Gurls", albeit falling prey of the football fever, enters spectacularly at #4, while Kylie Minogue's latest "All The Lovers" comes in at #10, becoming her eighth top ten single in Germany. It's good also to see Madcon entering the top ten with "Glow", which apart from Lena's "Satellite" becomes the most successful "Eurovision" song this year. The girls from Monrose also manage to reverse the negative trend and to bring yet another single in the top ten as "Like a Lady" jumps nine positions to #9. Now the girls have the achievement to have brought all first singles taken from their albums in the top ten. Further two global stars enter the top 20 this week, as Rihanna brings her third "Rated R" single "Te Amo" at #13, while Eminem shows his serious self at #20 with "Not Afraid". Furthermore Miley Cyrus continues to struggle having a big hit in Germany (and in Europe perhaps) as "Can't Be Tamed" despite showing her in a different light enters at #29. So, the girl unfortunately continues to be more tabloid than real star. And we should also pay attention to the way Alexandra Burke follows her top 20 success of "Bad Boys" as "All Night Long" crashes at #60. As long as the LP chart is concerned, German band Unheilig returns once again to the top with its extremely successful "Große Freiheit" album. The guys have also taken the top position in the music DVD chart with the live version of the album. New to the LP chart are also rapper Fler at #4 and the latest German "superstar" Mehrzad Marashi at #5, while Monrose's latest album comes in at #10.
