Plot
Ali (Christina Aguilera) is a small-town girl with a big voice who escapes hardship and an uncertain future to follow her dreams to Los Angeles. After stumbling upon The Burlesque Lounge, a majestic but ailing theater that is home to an inspired musical revue, Ali lands a job as a cocktail waitress from Tess (Cher), the club’s proprietor and headliner. Burlesque’s outrageous costumes and bold choreography enrapture the young ingenue, who vows to perform there one day.

Soon enough, Ali builds a friendship with a featured dancer (Julianne Hough), finds an enemy in a troubled, jealous performer (Kristen Bell), and garners the affection of a bartender and fellow musician (Cam Gigandet). With the help of a sharp-witted stage manager (Stanley Tucci) and gender-bending host (Alan Cumming), Ali makes her way from the bar to the stage. Her spectacular voice restores The Burlesque Lounge to its former glory, though not before a charismatic entrepreneur (Eric Dane) arrives with an enticing proposal.

TBH, I dunno why they didn't get an actual Burlesque dancer such as Dita Von Teese to be in the film (not necessarily the main part, but at least in a supporting role)... And maybe give them some tips... I got a very bad feeling that this is merely a vehicle for Ms Aguillera and not really proper Burlesque at all....

This is going to bomb so hard it'll make Nine look like a globe-conquering musical tour de force. Everything about it screams straight-to-DVD. I really can't imagine it being any kind of hit, even with Kristen Bell and Stanley Tucci on board. I'll probably still check it out though.

Yeah, but download it (unless you've got one of these Unlimited Cinema passes), dont encourage them to make more crappy films like this mate....

Gosh, you don't need to tell me that - I go to the cinema about twice a year! I don't think I've even been at all this year. I'm an evil advocate of piracy. :(

If I'm unable to find time to catch a film, then I do the same tbh, and, it's a general principle I have with remakes also.... I already own or have seen the originals, I aint gonna pay out twice for basically the same product, especially when it's inferior 99 times out of 100....

Ha, I loved Nine. :(

This looks craptacular though.

Nine was abysmal (well the first 40ish minutes I could bear to watch)

this on the other hand sounds brilliant to me, Christina, Cher, Cam
