it was played on radio 1 yesterday as part of that cotton bints 'music generator' .... this (amongst other kb tracks) are sheer quality and tbh (without sounding too old) highlight just how poor todays female artistes are.

but thats not hard, kb is our best ever female artiste.

this is one of the best songs ever! not my favourite of hers but still amazing..

and i read yesterday that rolf harris recorded a version of she moves through the fair with her recently and he didn't know if or how to release it. if he doesn't release it i'll hate him forever!

Spot on, Rob.... not only is this song a masterpiece that reminds me of a fabulous summer in 1985, but the video is incredible, when people say Madonna created the iconic video and was the trailblazer for MTV - no way - Kate Bush did it way before her.

Jaw-droppingly brilliant - she's a genius.

Great song. We need a new updated Greatest Hits collection. The Whole Story was 1986! I seem to be one of the few who wasn't keen on her last album Aerial.

I remember watching her perform this on the Wogan show in 1985 and I nearly died of sheer bliss!!!

God what I would have given to have been there in the audience.

I really like it. I know it's almost sacrilege to many Bush fans but I don't rate Hounds of Love as her best album at all, having said that, this track is actually sublime.

ah but you haven't told us which one you think is better.

I'd accept if someone told me they prefered The Dreaming. None of the others stand up to those two but for a debut album The Kick Inside was amazing in places.

i love the dreaming! it's a shame it doesn't get as much attention as most of her other albums :(

The Kick Inside is my favourite. One of the best debuts ever. There's just something about it.

I agree. Kite and Wuthering Heights make me shiver

Florence Welch could be "the new Kate Bush" (lame of course because we still have the original) if her songs had better melodies and not so overproduced and full of stuff. Rabbit Heart and Drumming Song are decent efforts already.

The Man with the Child in His Eyes, Moving, Saxophone Song and Wuthering Heights are my faves from the first album. I dont like Florence's voice at all.

nor me...

'army dreamers' and 'breathing' are two more superb tracks, often overlooked.

not by me. I love both of them. Breathing was one of the first tracks to stand out when I got hold of The Whole Story first.

Most fervent fans tend to go for The Dreaming. Many consider Hounds Of Love a bit too conventional
