July 25, 201014 yr Well now - Chorus is one of the most consistent pop albums there has ever been. And their eponymous album contains Fingers and Thumbs which is one of my favourite pop songs by anyone. I think, instead of a Bush revival, I'll have an Erasure one :) Edited July 25, 201014 yr by tonyttt31
July 25, 201014 yr Erasure were, to my ears, a diluted Yazoo - and I don't think Erasure ever released anything anywhere near as great as the clutch of Yazoo singles or the 2 albums, which were both classics - especially Upstairs at Erics. As for Sensual World - I think most of the earlier Bush albums suffer from dated production as she was experimenting with the new stuff thatcame on the market... hence the Linn drums on Hounds of Love etc. But songwise, there's at least half of TSL which stands up among her best stuff, I think.
July 25, 201014 yr Erasure were consistent.... ...much like Status Quo were consistent. Doesn't mean either of them were mind-boggingly amazing, which at least half of The Sensual World is.
July 26, 201014 yr The Dreaming will always be her best / most adventurous. Not a bad track on it, and it has the best song of her career: Night of the Swallow.
July 26, 201014 yr That's a bit of a stretch to say there's no bad tracks on it - the title track is not something I would consider to be good.
July 26, 201014 yr I wouldn't say there's a bad track on The Dreaming at all. I think the title track is great. Weakest track would be All The Love for me - too ordinary but it's still great. As pointed out already, Night Of The Swallow is outstanding and certainly among her most accomplished pieces Since somebody mentioned this in another thread I just had to watch this again I'd forgotten just how spot on this was/is SMXIro1P_7g& Edited July 26, 201014 yr by Severin
July 28, 201014 yr I listened to The Dreaming yesterday. I love the following Leave it Open Suspended in Gaffa Sat in Your Lap Get Out of My House Only getting into Night of the Swallow really but I dont think I like it as much as the 4 above.
July 28, 201014 yr suspended in gaffa, there goes a tenner and night of the swallow are my favourites from the dreaming. i used to not really get night of the swallow but it's really grown on my and now i love it. my all time favourite kate bush song is hounds of love though. i usually don't like the most popular songs by artists because they're usually either just overplayed or overrated but hounds of love is just amazing. it's my most played song on last.fm by anybody cos i keep going through phases where i just listen to it none stop. it's one of those songs that just never gets old for me. and that's another things i've noticed about kate bush songs i rarely ever like them on first listen whereas most songs these days i do, but most songs these days just get old and boring whereas kate bush songs just keep on growing on me and are timeless.
July 28, 201014 yr Wuthering Heights would probably be her most played/overplayed song and it's still the one I love most of all her singles - probably because it didn't kill ot off with overplaying myself. It took years and years to slowly rise into my Top 10 of all time. That said I prefer Waking the Witch and Suspended in Gaffa (was it a single in some territories?)
July 28, 201014 yr Suspended in Gaffa (was it a single in some territories?) All over Europe. Although I don't think it is the best song on the album Leave It Open is my favourite right now. The last line practically sums up Kate's attitude to the whole album
July 28, 201014 yr Just gave Hounds of Love a spin. It seems to be an album full of 8/10 songs. Nothing blows my sock off like Leave it Open or Suspended in Gaffa....but nothing (well maybe Watching You Without Me) makes me want to skip to the next track. Edited July 28, 201014 yr by tonyttt31
July 29, 201014 yr basically because it includes a song called 'Under The Ivy', which was the b-side of 'Running Up That Hill' - and it's one of her greatest songs....  :o

August 1, 201014 yr This is a forgotten Kate classic - and possibly her last ever 'proper' live performance ZefHvdUPJqo
August 2, 201014 yr This is a forgotten Kate classic - and possibly her last ever 'proper' live performance ZefHvdUPJqo she has done a few odd live appearances since.... I seem to remember one with her and Dave Gilmour from a few years back, there used to be a grainy video of it on YouTube. As for a definitive Kate top 10...hmm... difficult.... mine seems to change with my mood... but I'll get scouring my Kate albums and get back on this one....
