They confimed that the seats are definately booked though. Fingers crossed for tomorrow. Anyone else booked for Darlington? Is it a fact that the tour will be continuing after the panto and visiting other places as Pat seems to think on facebook? Sue Edited July 9, 201014 yr by surrogatemum
July 9, 201014 yr The History of the Big Bands New Wimbledon Theatre Only on Saturday 16 October 2010 Running Time: TBC http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v614/megham/2010/Big%20Band/BigBandfromWimbledon.jpg AboutInformation The History of the Big Bands – takes the audience on a musical journey through the times of the Big Band and Swing Era. The History of the Big Bands – is a high energy swing show, performed the way it should be! Performing all the famous tunes from the world’s greatest big band leaders. Including music from: Harry James • Benny Goodman • Tommy Dorsey • Duke Ellington • Glenn Miller • Count Basie • Woody Herman & Buddy Rich The World's Greatest Big Band and Swing Show spotlight a series of first class soloists from each Instrumental section, covering the famous solos as played by the original bandleaders. Later on in his career, Sinatra recorded with Duke Ellington, and performed and recorded with Count Basie in the Sands, Las Vegas and with Woody Herman at the Madison Square Garden's. This is a tremendous show with outstanding musicians that will appeal to the many big band fans. No mention of Darius in Wimbledon's promotion now. Maybe he's looking for a different audience
July 9, 201014 yr Let's hope this small sample of dates is really successful. The seating plan that came up last night showed lots of seats sold. This evening, it's showing as not many sold. Edited July 9, 201014 yr by megham
July 9, 201014 yr I really think that it is very important that his name is shown i n promoting this tour or it becomes a bit like a tribute band and I dont understand why his name is not there.
July 9, 201014 yr They must know whar they are doing. We know he's in there - maybe they want a broader audience. They have time later to add his name to the promo.

I hope D isn't going to impersonate Sinatra. I'd sooner have his own interpretation of the songs.
July 10, 201014 yr Also love time of my life. originally released by Green day. Thanks for video. Remember him singing that right at the beginning of his career together with Mockingbird at the big scottish gig which name escapes me, before Dive in was releaed.
July 10, 201014 yr Me and Bri have just googled our journey from London to Wimbledon :D If anyone else is going from London.,.its just 1 tube journey From Tower Hill straight to Wimbledon on District line (Green)..........30 mins travel time!! :cheer: OMG sooooo relived that its so easy to get to!! :D You just have to make sure you get a Wimbledon train as not all go on that branch, some go to Richmond or Ealing Broadway. It might be quicker to catch the first District line and change at Earls Court.
July 11, 201014 yr Let's hope this small sample of dates is really successful. The seating plan that came up last night showed lots of seats sold. This evening, it's showing as not many sold. I looked at Wimbledon, Woking, Bromley and Glasgow and those too show few seats sold. But we must remember that we have prior knowledge of this show. It hasn't yet had much publicity, and the theatres' Autumn programmes have not yet been sent out. I am still not clear as to whether D is co-producing only, or whether he is actually performing.
July 11, 201014 yr Some still don't seem to be taking bookings. Also some now have Darius as a special guest. Not the ones I've booked for though - he doesn't exist on those. Hopefully, it'll all be clarified tomorrow. Edited July 11, 201014 yr by megham
July 11, 201014 yr Quote:- The History of the Big Bands sees the incomparable Darius transport the audience on a magical musical journey revisiting some of Swing’s very best songs. All the famous tunes from the world’s greatest big band leaders are here, music from Harry James, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Woody Herman & Buddy Rich. The History of the Big Bands features a magnificent 16-piece big band and a series of first-class soloists who cover the famous solos as played by the original bandleaders. The audience is led on a musical ride from one band leader to another by the talented, charismatic and hugely successful Darius.
July 11, 201014 yr He'd better be singing... that's the only reason i booked, as i'm not usually into that sort of music...but if Darius is singing it, then i'm persuaded :D
