A programme on BBC4 at 9.00 to 10.30 tonight, Friday Aug 27th.

 

Documentary charting the history of swing 1920s to 1950s.

 

Missed this, wonder if it will be repeated?

It is being repeated sometime today and again after that. I can't remember when though. Since I don't like swing music, I wont be watching

I am not into swing either, its only the darius effect that draws my interest - so if he wasnt in it...

At least if they've added Manchester to the venues, it can't be doing badly. Wish I could get to Manchester Opera House. 29th October. Not on their site yet though.

Have just spoken to Manchester Opera House, they have no knowledge of this, and won't accept bookings!! Why is everything so complicated. :angry: Sue

They shouldn't be advertising it going to Manchester if there's no evidence that it is,thats when the complication starts!! :angry:

Sometimes there's a gap between decisions and application. It happens.

Have contacted The History Of The Big Bands website and apparently the contract has only just been signed so tickets won't be on sale until the end of the week. Will have to be patient (again!!). Sue

I'm taking a night off to go to the Royal Albert hall.

Should have been doing 4 nights staring from the Thursday.

At least I'm going to the ones in the south, just such a shame as Manchester is so close to home :(
