It makes me wonder if Darius has other plates spinning and he's waiting to see what happens with them e.g. something like some acting work awaiting green lighting and scheduling.

The tour is continuing next year with Darius, it's just not certain what the dates will be or if all venues will be the same.
well fingers crossed there are some near me - tbh, early Feb for Wycombe is risky - we were all snowed in last year then I think, the only prob I have is convincing OH that Woking is worth the drive after work- as he reckons there will a chance next year to see the show again nearer us.

I just hope the exuberant Glasgow audience shows its appreciation before or after the songs.

Yes, he's very lovely, charismatic and knows his stagecraft and that's very exciting, but I want to hear Darius sing!

I don't think you'll have a problem hearing his beautiful, booming voice BT, even with an excitable crowd. If the audience is similar to that of Lincoln, I would guess the average age there would have been 50+, so quite a bit older than a more normal Darius gig.

Have a wonderful time, take lots of pics(if you can) and let us know all about it :)

Worthing and wycombe is over that side again, i was looking for Barnstaple, Truro or possibly Bournemouth whi.ch is further b ut would try if nothing nearer.
There's a post from Pat on D's facebook which says Brian promised her a show in Bristol in 2011. Is that any good, Preston? They are also negotiating to take the show to Ireland.

Sorry, Paul. No photos. I had my camera with me but the only way I could see D from my seat was by craning forward if I'd tried to use a camera as well I'd have been on the guy in front's lap!

At the end I was swept through the fire exit on a human tide. I fought against the stream to get back to the foyer but there was such a crowd, I couldn't see anyone I recognised. Darius was definitely in there somewhere because I could see people at the back holding up their digital cameras and there were a lot of flashes.

I saw Booth but he was deep in conversation with Brian Cox the Scottish actor so I didn't approach to say hi.

Taylor Ferguson was seated on the same level as me. There wasn't one empty seat. It was absolutely sweltering up there.

Full marks to Darius and the band but thumbs down to the sound engineers. My hearing is still very good and I could barely hear what Darius was saying in the first half. A couple of us spoke to a member of staff at the interval and she said they'd had complaints from the top two levels and they'd already turned his mike up twice. I believe her .....not!

However the narration was much clearer in the second half. Thank goodness Darius has a strong singing voice because the songs came over very well in the first half too.

I was slightly disappointed with the first half. Same problem as GWTW - not enough Darius! I got to the stage where I groaned inwardly every time Mademoiselle came wriggling on to the stage. That was another couple of minutes darius could have been singing.

I also felt that he was controlling himself to match the singers of the eras he was representing instead of reacting to the emotion of the songs in his own way, as he did after the interval.

I think we all much preferred the 2nd half of shows we saw. I thought 'Fever' stood out in the 1st half. I did like the dancers much more than the lady who stripped. That didn't feel like a family show but when you look around you, maybe it is this time. Good to hear that Booth was there.

Even close up, Brian's narrative was a bit hard to hear, although Darius' was fine.

I wasn't that interested in her but I think I would have noticed if she'd stripped. I can only remember her taking off her "Tiller girl" headdress and tail. I thought her putting on clothes was quite novel for a burlesque dancer.

Fever was superb. I thought it was in the second half last night. That and Feeling Good were my favourites.

Darius sang them with great emotion. It was like a bolt of lightning..... the first time I've ever thought Wow! You know what? That guy could be a great soul singer too.

I heard nothing but positive comments at the interval and at the end. Lots of superlatives about D's singing and not from fans either. It was a very mixed audience from 30s to 80s I'd say, Nevertheless our tier had its screamers a couple of rows in front of me.

Who was it at the front who used a moment of silence when Darius drew breath to shout We love you Darius? Come on, confess!

Booth looked very well.

I had to pop down to the foyer at the interval to get a new mug. I'd bought my stuff on the way in and me, being me, dropped the contents on the floor and broke the handle of my mug, as I got up to let others past me.

I'm pretty sure I saw Avril talking to one of the theatre staff.

Bolt of lightening? That's how I felt about 'Feelin Good'. The shows I've seen had Fever in the first half and Feelin Good in the second but each show has benn very different. The first show had nowhere as much Darius as there is now. You may not have noticed Nova stripping because you were concentrating on Darius.

I'm not a swing fan at all, so Fever and Feeling Good are my favourites apart from the 3 new songs which I like as much as them. He relaxes into his own songs so well and so smoothly. I've always thought he should go towards soul, blues or non-swing, non-trad, non-rock jazz - lots of Peggy Lee stuff would suit him.

He sang a Sinatra song last night that I don't think has been mentioned - the word "young" is in my mind. I keep thinking young at heart. I'm pretty certain it's not that one but every time I try to see him singing it in my mind I get sidetracked by Young at Heart.

Anyone got a clue what I'm on about? It was either from the Main Event or Sinatra's show at the Sands, if that helps.

Edit - Found it. Sinatra sang it on his live Sands album - You Make Me feel So Young!

Thanks. Yes, he did. That's why I remember it. I wish I'd thought of noting them down but I'd probably have fallen off my seat and disturbed everyone. It'll take me a while to get all my bones back in place

Did you have the couple dancing? We had that at Brighton instead of Nova getting dressed
Thanks Baytree, Bristol would be a possibility but would prefer Barnstaple etc so have decided to wait and see but I did wonder if he would disappar back to LA for some time after the tour is over.
Glad you enjoyed the show BT. I don't know how you managed up there, I once saw a show from that position and it was so steep I was frightened to move. Pleased that Booth looked well. Sue

Soooooo glad that you had an Amasing tim e last night BT! ......Aww what a shame that you didn't get chance to meet Darius afterwards though :( !.Pat txt me today and told me that it was sold out last night and that the queue was massive!!...thats Excellent!! :cheer:

BTW......Bri has remembered Darius singing 'Thats Life' at Wimbledon too :D

sounds better and better, so many great songs darius can sing, the show souds as if it is getting better and better- the more darus the better tbh
It's changed to a really good show. It's been good to see it develop into something special. If it hadn't, I'd have gone along to hear Darius sing but wouldn't still be tempted to book other shows.
