I think that would work really well.

It would add to the atmosphere. But would it take attention away from the performers?

could do - perhaps while darius is narrating, or when the big band is playing on their own, that would not distract too much perhaps..would for example have been nice to see footage of Glenn Miller while they were playing St Lious march? forgotten the title at present, its difficult isnt it - I was quite happy with having just Darius up there and the band backing him

I'd rather just have Darius and his guitar, although I always loved him with his own band. They were so comfortable with each other. They were like one entity.

 

It's different with the Big Band because they're behind their music stands in formal arrangement. Darius does interact with them but there's still that physical barrier.

 

If he's going to continue to do the tour to support Help For Heroes, he won't feel free to use up profits that could go to them, on major changes. They'll need to be innovative but inexpensive.

 

As far as I'm concerned the best change is just to sing more songs. Make a medley of the more common Sinatra ones and add lesser known but equally powerful ones. He could reprise the medley at the end for audience participation and send them out singing.

 

The newspaper headlines projections could take the place of Darius's narration. He could involve the band more by getting the soloist out and getting him to add the personal detail about the bandleader he represents.

agree about the expense of paying out for more people or effects - how much does a theatre cost for a night? I suspect they work on a tight margin as it is, I was happy that Darius sang more in the second show - the more he is on the stage singing - the more I like it!!!

So, last night of the tour tonight in lovely Eastbourne. It's been amazing and great to have seen so many of you coming along to the shows., I really appreciate it. Hope to see a few faces tonight and roll on 2011 with another tour and a new album ! Love D x

That was nice.

 

Tonight went very well. The show was well received and had an end of term feeling about it. There were many people forming a long queue to meet Darius and all seemed very pleased with the show.

That's good. I hope the photos are of the end of tour party.

I really enjoyed last night, although we did panic slightly as the traffic was terrible and after about 4 trips round Eastbourne eventually found the theatre, dumped the car and ran in at about 7:15pm.

We had set off at 4:30!.

 

We had actually driven past the theatre once but as it had scaffolding up at the front and printed sheets over so we didn't realise till we saw it again from a different direction.

 

I just love hearing people saying how well he sang and they hadn't realised he was that good :D

 

it is very satisfying
