Posted July 4, 201015 yr Over the time I have been here, it seems that Female Acts are much more accepted than Male Acts. And as this year has been 'The Year of Male' there's been bitching especially when a Male Act goes to #1. WHY IS THIS? P.S. I'm guilty of this :kink: Edited July 4, 201015 yr by Tactical
July 4, 201015 yr No Disrespect.. But maybe many of the Buzzjack Users are Homosexual? So they prefer Female Artists.. Although embarassley i love Miley Cyrus (A) But i'm into Rap Music(B.O.B, Eminem, Travie McCoy)
July 4, 201015 yr I only have one male singer/act on my ipod and that is The Killers/Brandon Flowers and surpirsingly i am actually straight :o Female acts are just better
July 4, 201015 yr I prefer music by females because they tend to be better singers than males; simple as.

Although embarassley i love Miley Cyrus (A) But i'm into Rap Music(B.O.B, Eminem, Travie McCoy) I'm gay - and I seem to be able to keep in check my like for both male and female artists. It is quite irratating on here though - if someone has a catchy song and a fanny then you are gauranteed Buzzjack will love it
July 4, 201015 yr It's as simple as the majority of people preferred female singers to start with, therefore the site achieved a female singer-bias attracting more people who prefer female singers and so on... until we ended up with this rather skewed general opinion.
July 4, 201015 yr I like both male and female artists. Me too, but still there aren't so many male acts this year as female imo. Where is Shayne Ward? :P
July 4, 201015 yr I think some of the love for female artists on this website goes too far, there are some pretty average songs by females like All Night Long and California Gurls, yet people act like they are the standard of Bohemian Rhapsody, and there are VERY few male songs that get universal love on BJ I like both male and female artists equally- however, BJ cant deny that males have sang some of the greatest songs of all time- Bohemian Rhapsody, Imagine, Angels, One and Smells Like Teen Spirit are all sang by male artists I dont necessarily have a problem with this, but on such 'Record of the decade', 'number 1 of the noughties' polls- BJ's love for females make it completely invalid and that is depressing As to why this is, Im not sure why- but they are obviously appealing in some way

July 4, 201015 yr Females rule music. Aside from Michael Jackson there's not really been any worldwide massive male superstars, whereas with females you've got Mariah/Whitney/Celine who are fondly talked about and then you have Madonna who is the most famous woman in the world, you've got Christina/Beyonce/Pink who've had massive careers and are still at a young age, Shakira is huge in the Latin world and is still churning out hits after all these years (aside from the last flop album), Rihanna is only like 21 and has had tons fo #1's over the world and is one of the most popular female acts we have right now everything she touches is a hit, Leona Lewis got that worldwide smash debut and along with Alexandra Burke and Kelly Clarkson are the most succesful talent show winners of recent times, Kylie has had a 20 year+ career and her songs are still zooming into the top 10, Alicia Keys has been going for almost 10 years and has sold millions of albums across the globe......and then you have acts like Ke$ha and Katy Perry who appear from nowhere with lengthly #1's in America and suddenly they're superstars after one single. Male acts? I'd say only Eminem and to a lesser extent Usher have had longterm worldwide success. The majority of males in the music industry are either rappers (who can easily be mistaken for eachother and who's role could easily be filled by any other rapper) or are fronting bands. Enrique Iglesias is maybe the only actual SINGER who can keep his success after just a few singles. So when you kind of look at how succesful the females are it's no wonder how Buzzjack are so adoring of them.
July 4, 201015 yr  Yes, all 'homosexuals' are the same. LOL. It is true that it's the cause of a lot of the female bumming though.

No offence so don't get me wrong, younger members are sometimes too enthusiastic towards their fave acts, so they can exaggerate a bit. I was like that when I was 16-18-20 years old. I don't see a problem with that, just older members should respect this too, but younger members should respect also the opinions of the older members because their view to the music and music industry is sometimes different. :) I know that was too general, but this is also one side of the coin.
July 4, 201015 yr LOL. It is true that it's the cause of a lot of the female bumming though. :P You saw though my flimsy argument :(

July 4, 201015 yr Females rule music. WOO I love stupid comments! :cheer: Hmm lets see. Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Claption, James Brown, Bob Dylan, Prince, Elvis Presley, Freddy Mercury, Frank Sinatra, Chuck Berry, Michael Jackson, B.B. King, Mick Jagger/Keith Richards, David Bowie, Marvin Gaye,... Just a few notable MALE artists which have changed the face of music. Let's be serious here. Apart from females such as Aretha Franklin and possibly Madonna, there is no other female musician who has been able to reach the critical acclaim of the above. ^
July 4, 201015 yr I equally enjoy male and female singers. But I haver to agree there is so much "love" for females over males - it's true the bulk of all time classics are song by males - the bulk of producers are male too and without them females wouldn't have a bloody song to whine over!
July 4, 201015 yr Firstly, sexuality has nothing to do with it. Secondly, it really isnt that important to have a debate over, people can like whoever they like, male or female, really doesnt matter. Edited July 4, 201015 yr by Broken
July 4, 201015 yr A lot of male artists are rap/urban (Tinie Tempah, B.o.B, Eminem, Professor Green, Usher, Akon) and I'm not really into rap or urban. A lot of female artists are pop (Cheryl Cole, Lady GaGa, Ke$ha, Pixie Lott, Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis, Katy Perry) and pop is my favourite type of music. I hope that isn't generalizing too much or anything
