September 14, 201014 yr Just seen the new video on tv, are linken park a euro dance band now or something? Still... not as bad as what i've done though.
September 14, 201014 yr I must say I LOVE 'Blackout'! :o The rest of the album is quite boring for me though. Maybe some other songs will grow later but now this is it: the only instant one is 'Blackout'.
September 15, 201014 yr LOOKS LIKE THIS ALBUM WILL SELL ONLY BECAUSE THE STRONG FAN-BASE THAT LINKIN PARK HAS, SAME AS LIL' WAYNE - REBIRTH ALBUM BUT I PREDICT A LITTLE BETTER FOR THIS Slightly random post? No need for caps anyway... Anyway, the album: it's not as coherent as I hoped and there's nothing as flat-out brilliant as "What I've Done", but overall it's a grower with the second half a lot stronger than the first. Complaints: 1. "The Messenger" is really unnecessary, would have been better to end with "The Catalyst". 2. "Burning In The Skies" is a bit underwhelming as a first proper track. 3. The whole "Robot Boy"/"Jornada Del Muerto" is drawn out too long. Tbh I think it would have been more instantly satisfying to make the album "New Divide" suggested they were going to make - like Minutes, but more refined and thought through. As it is I'm slightly glad they didn't, Meteora suffered from basically being a fun but slightly inferior version of Hybrid Theory and an album like what I already described could have struggled under Minutes' shadow. This to me seems like the kind of album that is a solitary point on their spectrum, a reflection of where they've been recently. Much like I now want Green Day to make an album of rawer, less narrative-driven material than 21st Century Breakdown as their next move, I'm pleased that this experiment has largely paid off for LP but I think what comes next could be brilliant.
September 16, 201014 yr The fact this looks like it's debuting at No. 2 on the albums chart - behind a band who have only been successful for a couple of years - says a lot about how much of their fanbase Linkin Park have lost over the past few years. Edited September 16, 201014 yr by ags_rule

Not really - The Script's debut sold double what Minutes to Midnight did and is a year fresher in peoples minds. It would have been brilliant to beat them but #2 isn't disastrous. "Wretches & Kings" has been universally acclaimed and could save the album tbh.

I agree 'Wretches & Kings' is a good track, easily the best one on the album, but that sort of music just won't make any impact on the singles charts these days. Plus, it isn't even the second single, which says a lot about what LP themselves think of the track. Just listening to A Thousand Suns again and it's the sound of a rocking band getting their balls removed by Snow Patrol.

OH NO IT WONT MAKE AN IMPACT ON THE SINGLES CHART THAT MEANS THIS BAND ARE $h!t. a successful band is one that makes good music, not one that tries for chart success. although it is a $h!t album. but i dont see how a number 2 album is a bad thing? yeah their last 2 were number 1 but it's only number 2 it's hardly a disaster.
September 19, 201014 yr You're missing my point. The previous poster had suggested that 'Wretches and Kings' would save the album, so I had to presume they were talking about it in terms of chart success, as everybody knows one good track doesn't "save" an album from sounding like crap.
September 19, 201014 yr Author yeah but if Wretches and Kings got good airplay and sales, it would bring album sales up. i cant imagine it saving it though, its not commercial enough.

September 25, 201014 yr I hate NEW linkin park, stick to your old $h!t. But people with weak taste in music will buy this garbage just like minutes to midnight

September 27, 201014 yr I think i get what he means, bar 'given up' the singles from minutes to midnight were awful yet seemed to do reletively well probably due to a lot of new listeners who probably didn't even listen to their older stuff with a less commercial sound. I remember a couple years ago i had a look on the official linken park forum and literally the whole board seemed unanimous on hating on their change of sound.
October 10, 201014 yr Author 5qF_qbaWt3Q New video. im guessing new single. i cant sit through it all.
October 15, 201014 yr Just got this. It's different but still quite enjoyable...probably need to give it a few more listens before I can judge how much I like it. Don't see it charting too well though :(
October 19, 201014 yr I hate NEW linkin park, stick to your old $h!t. But people with weak taste in music will buy this garbage just like minutes to midnight hate to break it to you babe but they've been terrible since the very, very beginning.
October 26, 201014 yr Saw this on Facebook: "Can you guess what Chester has to do in Saw 3D to save his life?" and someone wrote "Produce a good album post-Hybrid Theory?" I lol'd.
