August 9, 201014 yr '7 Things' truly is amazing and deserves top five at least! 'Every Rose...' on the other hand is dire and doesn't even deserve top twenty! :puke: Probably my least favourite Miley song ever. -_-
August 10, 201014 yr Author =06 Who Owns My Heart 8.769 +++ 11 from NickF1 --- 03 from Flamingo Flowers And I feel you Running through my vains Am I into you Or is the music to blame? Can't Be Tamed's sister song, also produced by Rock Mafia, somehow finishes higher in this countdown... I'm not sure how that happened. I like the song but it's a bit joyless - definitely a strictly 8/10 sort of affair. Can anybody SHED ANY LIGHT on what makes it so great? =06 Robot 8.769 +++ 11 from Swagger91 --- 06 from Gooddelta I would scream But I'm just this hollow shell Waiting here, begging please Set me free so I can feel... From slightly underwhelming to frantically amazing, coming in joint sixth is Robot, and if Tamed and Heart are sister songs, then Robot and Liberty Walk must be too - like the latter, this is relentlessly uptempo, overflowing with ridiculous vocoder and chock full of fantastic lyrical moments. Such a wonderfully angry song! Perfection. 05 Fly On The Wall 9.000 +++ 11s from Flamingo Flowers, Gagafan, Kuki Sanban & Theo --- 01 from On Your Shore And what I say is Come a little closer And what I'm gonna say is DON'T CHA? Concluding our Miley electropop trio of songs here is the final single from the Breakout album. For a while it looked like this might actually finish ahead of See You Again, but nobody marked that song as hardly as On Your Shore did for Fly so here we are! Still I think top 5 is quite a result. How many third singles are this great? The Breakout campaign really was an onslaught of terrific pop song after terrific pop song which won a lot of 'doubters' (haters) over by the time it was done. Fly is tremendous fun, but shame about the video...
August 10, 201014 yr See you again LibertyY Walk Permenant december Two More Lonley People Party In the usa wooooooooooooooooooo as jark says " noddin my head like YEE-AAH"
August 10, 201014 yr I love ''Who Owns My Heart''. I think the music's to blame :P (pun very much intended). It's very catchy, I find myself singing it all day once I've heard it. The bridge towards the end is great and there's more lyric content in chorus over 'Tamed', which is saved by the pre-chorus. 05. Two More Lonely People 4. Party In The USA 3. See You Again 2. Permanent December 1. Liberty Walk would be my order from remaining bunch :). Edited August 10, 201014 yr by Jamieed
August 10, 201014 yr I agree Jamie, "Who Owns My Heart" is a great song but the music seems to ruin it slightly, I don't like the intro that much, that's the main thing that I dislike about it. Other than that a great song. My remaining order would be: 5. Two More Lonely People 4. See You Again 3. Liberty Walk 2. Party In The USA 1. Permanent December
August 10, 201014 yr Author Two More Lonely People HAS already been you guys! 04 Party In The USA 9.154 +++ 11s from Kuki Sanban, Lee Wallace, On Your Shore, Swagger91, Tactical & Theo --- 02 from Gooddelta Who's that chick that's rockin' kicks? She gotta be from outta town... I was a whole year late in discovering the genius of this song, to my eternal shame. It's SLICK AS HELL - perfect production from pop extraordinaire Dr Luke which is a little bit country, a little bit electropop, with an incredibly simple melody to boot. It's probably her catchiest song because once it's in your head it ain't going ANYWHERE. Really though the lyrics are this song's greatest asset - cardigans, memos, Nashville parties, Hollywood signs. It's ABSURD and frightfully good fun. 03 Liberty Walk 9.307 +++ 11s from Jaimeed & Tactical --- 04 from NickF1 Don't listen to all the people who hate 'Cos all they'll do is try'n make your mistakes for ya But they don't own ya I just told ya! I love how ghetto those lyrics make this sound. Liberty Walk is most likely my favourite Miley song, period. It's the ultimate. Heavy on the old electropop, spoken/rapped verses and some serious VOX. It really says a lot for the Can't Be Tamed album that this song opens up, and sets the bar SO high, and yet the remainder of the album practically never disappoints. Shame it couldn't make #1 in this countdown but top 3 is not exactly a flop so HOORAH. So we're left with Permanent December and See You Again. Predictions?
August 10, 201014 yr Awful Top 2, Awful :(:( Permenant december is forgettable now for me See You again is good, but not better than Party In t he usa and liberty walk :(
August 10, 201014 yr Hopefully See You Again is no.1, I do love Permanent December but it's definitely not Miley's best track. For me that's Party In The USA, I think it's one of the best pop songs of the last decade personally. It was the soundtrack to my holiday last year too in all it's leaked-quality glory!
August 10, 201014 yr Ahh, Liberty Walk . 3's not bad, it's a contender for song of the year for me. I remember on 1st listen thinking it's something special after first few seconds. 2. Permanent December 1. See You Again Edited August 10, 201014 yr by Jamieed
August 11, 201014 yr Not the top 2 i expected! :o Also, I thought Party In The USA would get in the top 3 easily! PD FTW! :cheer: (although I also like See You Again) ;)

Shame it couldn't make #1 in this countdown but top 3 is not exactly a flop so HOORAH. So we're left with Permanent December and See You Again. Predictions? Party In The USA was one of my least favourite mainstream pop songs of 2010, not a fan at all :( Liberty Walk is very good but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have given it an 11, unless it was my mistake, I don't like it that much  See You Again will surely win? The only Miley song I have on repeat throughout the year personally - absolute pop perfection and one of the most criminal UK #11's ever, even if she's had her fair share
August 11, 201014 yr Author Oh whoops! The 11 was from Jaimeed. You gave it an 8 (shame on you!). Top 2 coming tonight!
August 11, 201014 yr I expect: 2. Permanent December 1. See You Again 'See You Again' seems to be a favourite, even from people who aren't big fans of Miley.
August 11, 201014 yr Author Patience my child! Okay, this is the moment you've all been waiting for. I know you've practically put your lives on hold for the duration of this thrilling countdown so I can only begin to imagine how suspenseful this must feel. We're about to find out which two songs, according to Buzzjack, are the best of Miley Cyrus' (Future Queen of Pop™) short but fruitful career. ARE YOU READY? Here goes! In second place we have... ... ... ... See You Again! 9.346 +++ 11s from David, Gooddelta, Jamieed & Tactical --- 03 from Flamingo Flowers My best friend Lesley said 'Oh, she's just being Miley...' SHOCKER! Miley's debut single for all intents and purposes (internationally anyway) is widely considered her greatest song to date and everybody here seemed sure it would win. See You Again has the sort of charm which just can't be faked. It's her gawkiest, most ridiculous song to date and it seems fairly likely that she'll never make something as wacky again. Part of its immense charm, for me anyway, is the knowledge that it really shouldn't be anything like as amazing as it is. Everything she's released since has been slicker and more polished, which has resulted in numerous fantastic songs, but this will probably always be her crowning moment. Shame on Flamingo Flowers! Meaning we have an unexpected winner in Permanent December! 9.385 +++ 11s from David & Kuki Sanban --- 08s from Flamingo Flowers, Gooddelta, Nick F1 & Swagger91 Don't call me a lolita 'Cos I don't let 'em through 'Cos I'm saving all my loving for someone And it's you In all honesty I don't think this is deserving of the win but it proved a less divisive song than See You Again - it was the only song not to receive a single score lower than 8 and it scored a whole host of 10s, which was enough for a win despite not having as many 11s as SYA. i'm surprised it's so widely liked actually - I would've thought the Tik Tok similarities and heavy use of autotune might put a few people off, but evidently not! It's tremendous fun but will it sound so fresh in a year, or two, or three? Personally I doubt it. Regardless of that though, right now it's a great song. Not her best, but it's your #1 Buzzjack! All that's left for me to say is thankyou for rating and following the countdown everybody!
August 11, 201014 yr Good work Jark! Can't say I agree with the winning song but it was an interesting countdown.
August 11, 201014 yr Shocker indeed :P. ''See You Again'' was her breakthrough/first UK hit. ''Permanent December'' is fun though, definately a highlight of 'Tamed'. Given the album is fresh, I think the #1 track/general order would be different if rate was held much later in year. - I don't think PD will stand test of time like some of her other anthems. Compliments to Jark for the rather professional analysis of each song. ^_^
August 11, 201014 yr Permanent December :cheer: the stand-out track on the new album for me, just love it! Although i'm suprised i'm one of only two who gave it an 11 :o Anyway, thanks for doing this Jark, and loving the "Future Queen of Pop™" part especially :D
