Best song she's "ever" done? That's a steep statement to make considering I only know two songs by Eliza - the other ('Skinny Genes') was a minor top 30 hit for me. Unless you've heard other songs by Eliza. 'Pack Up' is brilliant with a really infectious chorus and will hopefully get top 10 in the UK chart if not this afternoon then hopefully next week.

I guess Adam Lambert is one of those artists who just doesn't seem to appeal in the UK. Shame as 'Whataya Want From Me' is, imo, a really good song. That's what counts for me - the song, not the artist. In fact I'm not even ruling out Adam climbing again next week - might even end up top 5.

 

Oh, and it was The Beautiful South who released 'Perfect 10'. :P

The wonders of YouTube. I always like to check out the new releases that I've not heard because usually I come across a great song that enters my chart quite high. Otherwise those songs would go un-noticed and not make any impact on my chart. I can see the Badly Drawn Boy resemblence. Decent enough song, worthy of a place in my top 40.

She's had other songs, "Piano Song" was her debut but it was more of a taster, after that she had "Roller Blades" which I used for BJSC comp. I think I got myself to blame as I introduce her to the world of Buzzjack first with the use of "Roller Blades", another track by her is "Smokey Room", so you could tell I'm a fan of her music. :D

After a fortnight as my pre-release no. 1 it was inevitable Yolanda Be Cool was going to be a massive hit for me. It probably would've still charted this week regardless of whether the download had been released to iTunes last week. It's success across Europe helped boost this songs popularity with me and continues to do so. I know I kept making a big deal over BJ being far too obsessed with female artists (which is true to an extent :P ) but I don't care about others tastes in music. It is always brilliant to know that there are others with similar tastes as me. Itt's a first for me to have two no. 1 hits in a calendar year that aren't prodominantly in English. Who knows, before the end of the year we might possibly have a third? :lol:

I didn't really get into 'Skinny Genes'. In fact, I didn't even know the song until I saw the track doing well on iTunes the week it was released. 'Pack Up' appeals to me much more which the soulful male vocals in the chorus giving the song more depth while Eliza's "tweet tweet" bit is cute. :lol:

It does seem that the whole debut album has been widely spread over 18 months. Has every track been released off the album? :lol: To think I charted 'Dog Days Are Over' in January 2009. I do like 'Cosmic Love' though - a really chilling haunting ballad that makes me pay attention.

I quite like this. :( Then again, it was me who charted 'Take That' by Wiley at #7 in January - that song was extremely bizarre and not commercial in the slightest but yet I liked it. This sounds more radio friendly and the whole "got to find a way" sounds familiar. Have they sampled the lyrics from another track? Not heard Roll Deep's new song but after the mammoth success of 'Good Times', they have a lot to live up to in the "second single" states.
