I'm thinking of getting it. Should I bother?

I'm always interested in what are deemed to be classic albums and this is top of my list at the moment, to buy.

Ahh Fleetwood Mac!

Go Your Own Way

Need to listen to this album in full myself, heard good things about it.

I do like Rumours sometimes. It certainly sounds good in a car cruising.

But then I like Tusk better so what do I know.

I don't really like Fleetwood Mac (well not the era that this is from - I prefer the earlier FM - the Albatross and Man of the World FM). Rumours though, I have to reluctantly admit, is a very good album I don't think there is a duff song on it at all. My favourite is Never Going Back - with a fantastic acoustic guitar riff all the way through it. Oh ... and Songbird and The Chain.

Yes, yes, yes, buy Rumours. It's a brilliant album. One of the best ever. Not a duff track on it.

Hmmm. Most people I know I wouldn't recommend Rumours to.

It is very typical West coast soft rock a la The Eagles BUT having said that Go Your Own Way, Don't Stop and The Chain (BBC F1 theme) are all brilliant if slightly guilty pleasures.

You already know Dreams through The Corrs I'm sure but FM do it so much better.

I'd say 3-5 quid you can't go wrong but think carefully if it's more

Is there really anything more to be said about Rumours ? It's a legendary, classic album for a reason.

Also, if you haven't check out the remastered version it's worth it, especially for the re-inclusion of Stevie's infamous "Silver Springs" track.

"Blue, Green. Colors Flashing."

I bought 'Rumours' for its classic status too. I was however extremely impressed and now, years later on, I still like it. I think 'Fleetwood Mac' (the 1975 one) is very overlooked and is almost as strong as Rumours: it has the brilliant Rhiannon on it for a start. To be honest, I think Fleetwood Mac are bloody brilliant. Appreciate their musical craftsmanship if nothing else.

I bought the re-mastered 2 disc version last year. Already had an original CD. The difference in sound quality on the new version is astounding and much clearer. You get a second disc out outtakes etc but tbh I've not played it.

I have to say I dont like Don't Stop. Getting into the other tracks though. It's a lot more mellow in places that I expected.

Brilliant album - one of the best albums ever made with sales of over 25 million

Though this is the only album of Fleetwood Mac I after the early Peter Green days

Also on the album is the track called THE CHAIN of which the instrumental break near the end is the BBC theme to Formula One.

At some point, classic albums start to get taken for granted. There's sometimes an assumption that they must automatically be overrated, which can be true in some cases. In spite of the fact that many of Rumours tracks have been overplayed, it doesn't diminish the album's power that much. But I'll admit, I could go a long time before I had to hear Don't Stop again. Maybe it should stop, for a while.

Rhiannon

Along with the song Tusk it's my favourite of theirs by miles
