Rule 4.1:

The entries (lyrics and music) must not have been commercially released and/or publicly performed, in full or in part, before 1 October 2009.

Taked from the rules for the 2010 contest. The video is available for the public to watch, so could it count as being publicly performed?

I don't think so...

If Lena got to do it for Germany. Her single charted alot of places before. Maybe Uk should send someone like Pixie Lott in? It would be perfect for someone like her. It would help her album and all her singles and would help her break europe
Pixie wouldn't do it, she's too busy concentrating on America at the moment I expect. I think the UK should try and get someone who is partly known, but not had much chart success - VV Brown, Girls Can't Catch etc.

Sugababes all the way! They would be perfect. They are pretty well known throughout Europe, and of course Jade's now in the band which is an added bonus. :D I doubt they would ever even consider it though would they. :(

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens...

I think the Saturdays would be perfect! doing a nice song :) they need to break europe.. proberley there best chance.
The Saturday's cant sing live though.. :P :kink:

Oh that's not really neccesary for Eurovision now is it? :P

But no, in the UK it would kill them stone dead (not that they are that far from that as is). It is one of the biggest stigma's musically, wheras in Europe they send their biggest acts, we just send nobodies, because no big act is willing to risk their reputation on a 'joke' compeitition. It's ridiculous.

We need to send a PROPER artist, not a nobody, or at worst an artist who has a big single beforehand, it worked wonders for Lena.

Are you being serious? The saturdays are brilliant live!

Yes. :P

But... all of his recent songs are terrible? and i can imagine that he views eurovision is just about being overly camp... when it isn't? The UK needs to view eurovision as X factor on an international scale.

But the X Factor songs are $h!t, so no thanks

One of The Saturdays was a backing singer for Ireland in 2006, so I wouldn't rule them out, but I think their career would need to go a bit more downhill first :kink:

See Germany 2008. :(

...but don't listen to it :kink:
We should send some very heavy, dark and gloomy metal! :P ;)
Worked for Finland, but not for the Czechs...
