April 7, 201114 yr Confirmation of Blue documentary on April 16th on ESCToday: http://esctoday.com/news/read/17105
April 14, 201114 yr New official video, the one that will be shown on the music channels I suppose; hPuDbaOBDsc I'm still struggling to see what Popjustice have against this song?
April 14, 201114 yr Popjustice are probably just stuck in the "Has been act = massive flop" frame of mind. I guess they're expecting a Scooch style result and are therefore refusing to get on board with I Can :( .
April 14, 201114 yr It's not as if they fizzled out in the first place though, they disbanded originally whilst still fairly popular! Their final hit (excluding Get Down On It which was chart ineligible but would have been a top ten if not) was a #4 success and three of them had decent solo careers with top 5 hit singles and/or successful albums. Blue were NEVER a flop act!
April 14, 201114 yr Oh, Popjustice will come around eventually. If we finish top five I can't imagine he'll keep up his opposition to the track...
April 14, 201114 yr It's a shame that radio / TV don't support Blue at all too. I wonder will they get some decent international airplay with this... Oh, and I liked promo video more than the official one.
April 14, 201114 yr Just a reminder that "Your Country Needs Blue" is on Saturday BBC1 6:10pm Trailer: _coRnXdMVl8 Oh, and I liked promo video more than the official one. I prefer the promo video too
April 14, 201114 yr I'm going to miss it as I'll be at work (starting new Saturday hours of 3-10 :nocheer:) but I'll iPlayer it on Sunday...looks interesting
April 16, 201114 yr Pre-order link up on iTunes, it's out on 1st May; http://itunes.apple.com/gb/preorder/i-can-...gle/id432539486 Wow, the 'Original Mix' sounds pretty boring, at least it was spruced up/modernised for the Eurovision/radio edit! Nice to see the instrumental and video on there too, I'll definitely buy it :D I see that it was StarSign that produced the song, not Stargate, I wonder where those rumours came from
April 16, 201114 yr They should really release it this week to capitalise on the album release/TV show, but never mind... Noticed it's on their own label too, Blueworld

Noticed it's on their own label too, Blueworld  True, although then the chart run would be something like 20-65-32-5 or something  I still can't call how it will chart, but it probably hinges on how well they do in the contest. It SURELY has to do better/as well as Scooch chartwise? There was a shock top 5 hit if ever I saw one!

I think we'll come top 5 in Dusseldorf but I STILL don't think we'll win. By the way, I was wondering (aloud) the other day what would happen if we win and with the conclusion of my (Eurovision-sceptic, Blue-hating) boyfriend I came to the conclusion that there would be hardly any celebration or recognition for them, it's not like there'd be street parties...

True, I don't think people would be overly bothered if we won. It would be on the news a lot and there'd be a lot of surprise from people who think it's all about politics but I doubt there'd by any actual celebration, as smaller nations might have. They might get a #1 single out of it though, or at least an iTunes #1 for a day or two. I still personally feel like we've got the best song in the contest and deserve to win, but who knows. The favourites are Estonia and I think that they have less chance of a winning than us. France still look like the ones to beat to me, possibly Azerbaijan but again - that doesn't sound like a winner, more like a 3rd/4th place. In other news, my Official CD just came in the post :cheer: God bless HMV, always early!
April 16, 201114 yr In other news, my Official CD just came in the post :cheer: God bless HMV, always early! Our postman hasn't been yet (I don't think) so hopefully mine will come too. Was yours shipped on Thursday?
April 16, 201114 yr Our postman hasn't been yet (I don't think) so hopefully mine will come too. Was yours shipped on Thursday? Yep! Will have time to listen to the compilation in full before I go to work (3-10 :nocheer:)
April 16, 201114 yr There'd be interest for about a week if we won and Blue would get a fair amount of interest that they wouldn't have done otherwise, but people wouldn't really care. If anything, winning would probably lead to some ridiculous editorials from the likes of the Daily Mail about the cost of hosting...
April 16, 201114 yr I can't see the song doing too well chartwise. It's had little-to-no airplay and that's not going to change, and alot of casual viewers have had a very negative reaction to it just because of what it is. It will do a little bit better than It's My Time because it will get sales from the hardcore Blue fans as well as the hardcore Eurovision fans, but I don't think it even matters that it's more contemporary than Jade's song - it's all the same as far as the average Joe is concerned, and I'm predicting it'll scrape the top 20. Obviously if we win it should do better the week following the contest, but of course that's a big if!

When it was first revealed I noticed a fair few Facebook updates from friends saying things like 'oh dear, we don't stand a chance do we? nul points again I reckon...' or stuff to that effect. Ridiculous.
April 16, 201114 yr It would be a shame for this to wind up as Blue's smallest hit, and I know it's unlikely but I'm really hoping that it 'does a Scooch' in the charts, I still have no idea how that went top five (two weeks in the top ten!). Did anybody watch the documentary, I enjoyed it - I thought it would be more about 'Blue's journey' but it was almost a 'how to win Eurovision' show which I loved. Even moreso because I watched it in my 'dinner hour' at work, well timed to start at 6.10. I shan't go into the comments that I got from everybody else in the canteen who saw how intently I was watching it  It also suddenly reminded me that the first time I heard Love Shine A Light was around May 1997 time I guess, in church (I used to go with my dad when I was younger). I actually thought it was just a hymn like 'The whole world in his hands' or something, it had the same sort of vibe and quite a few people were singing it outside
