Yup - listening now

I still prefer the original but it's not a bad remix at all better than the other one.

Andy: White Light is in the can...

Date added: 14.08.2010

Four 24 hour days in the studio later, and it's in the can.

The full team were in to record the White Light session - the live and large versions of Black Light songs we've been playing at festivals this summer.

Expect the mixed down White Light experience soon.

Ideas were flowing. History, Go, Not Forgotten, Look Me In the Eye Sister, Superstylin got even larger.

And there's a house classic take on My Friend which you'll hear first when we take to the stage in Space Ibiza this Sunday for a one off live gig on the white isle.

Otherwise, see you at Puklepop, Lowlands or the 2 V's next week.

It's sounding family sized.

WHITE LIGHT

Portugal Live last Thursday - straight to the airport to DJ with Carl Cox in Mallorca on Friday, then down to Barcelona for another DJ set on Saturday night. 5 minutes after I got home on Sunday, there was a truck crossing the lawn and it was time for the White Light 3 dayer... ]

Here's the link to see the blog and pics of the rather improvised looking recording studio!

Just spotted this Tweet:

Groove Armada's people asked us to make a thirty second viral advert for their new album. But we got carried away and ended up making a street dance film instead. We f*cking love street dance.

:D

Thanks Munchkin it's such a great song it's a shame it did not get airplay...it's not so radical that the main stations could not play it ...if one of the so called cool artists had been on it, it would have been high on airplay now.

I dread to think where his new stuff is going to be played, if at all <_< . I don't think it will be as electro as the GA mix but they have certainly done backing tracks for him.

Seems to me if you don't rap or autotune these days you can kiss the singles chart bye-bye  His last few singles have struggled to get recognition.

I doubt Robbie & Gary will have that problem.

It's quite disgusting isn't it? History should of been a radio smash..GA are a renowned club land duo..GRUM is the remix artist of the moment..everyone has raved about the track and nope..Will's on it so run for the hills.

Out of touch bunch of middle aged Ars@oles!

Didn't really like the Ad clip either Chris..and where's the bloody video.?

Amazing how people get automatic airplay regardless of what crap they put out.

and where's the bloody video.?

Is there going to be one?

They said there was going to be one yes....

Are you making a video for it?

There is going to be a video, in that way these days where incredibly talented people basically do really clever things for no money.

In the hope that Kanye West picks them for his next video.

Haha!

I guess that's pretty much the only prize in the locker these days. It's funny to think that the first Groove Armada video budgets were the size that films get made for now! Those days are definitely long gone. But the videos they're making now for 50p are so much better than the ones that cost £500,000. Money doesn't buy you creativity, that's for sure.

But it doesn't look like its happen does it?

Thanks Bev. Maybe they are going to use animations or something

Sorry Chris..i thought you had seen it..here's the whole piece and the link.

Meanwhile, History is the next single from Black Light.

Yes, as much as anything is a single these days! I think the guys over in the States have done various remixes and we've got a great idea of how to work a new version of that into the live set.

MusicGroove Armada ft. Will Young: 'History'

Released on Monday, August 30 2010

By Robert Copsey, Music Reporter

Groove ArmadaWill YoungMusicIf anyone can break Will Young into dance music, it's gotta be Groove Armada. Not only do Messrs. Cato and Findlay have 13 years' experience behind the mixing desk, but their ability to tread between the the radio-friendly and the hip 'n' trendy is pretty much second to none. To that end they're easing Wills in gently - so-to-speak - on their latest single.

Gently and, it has to be said, in quite some style. Here they provide an ambient, trippy soundbed for the eternal Pop Idol, allowing his tingly vocals to soar majestically as he sings about moving on, finding a better place and the like. The result is the electropop equivalent of the perfect cappucino: intense, creamy and somehow capable of making you feel perky and relaxed at the same time. William Robert Young, it's over to you now.

Groove Armada release spoof video

Friday, August 27 2010, 17:26 BST

By Robert Copsey, Music Reporter

Groove Armada have released a spoof video to promote their latest single.

The duo, whose new song 'History' features Will Young, uploaded the clip on YouTube yesterday.

The video shows a street dancer and a ballet dancer in a dance-off, in a plot similar to the movie StreetDance 3D.

The song is lifted from the group's eighth studio album Black Light, their first since 2006's Soundboy Rock.

It is rumoured that they will release another LP called White Light later this year.

'History' is available to download from August 30.

Thanks BYM&Ms. So the 'viral' worked then - even though it was a wee bit longer than 30 seconds

Nice comments from DS and good to see it's getting airplay. Shame the other networks aren't picking it up - it's a whole lot better than some of the stuff they play

A bit more than a rumour they have it in the can. It's a remix album of the all the songs. Wonder which remix they are using for History.
