Only because odds and personal rankings pretty much don't go together at all in terms of thread combination, which I don't like anyway, hence the splitting up of that big long general thread that we had to bring back the separate NF threads. Would be very messy/hard to follow indeed in practice...picture the scene now

I almost forgot banlist was a part of it as there was zero discussion in that thread about it :lol: I wonder if more people would have nominated (and banned Roll Cheap :arrr:) if it had been a separate thread. How Green Light only picked up 2 nominations I'll never know...

I predict Bulgaria will win :)

Banlist/reservation wasn't all THAT bizarre - there was no reason to hold back reservation at the same time as the banlist, and they were both being announced - there wouldn't have really been much discussion/point in the banlist having its own thread. I think the main problem was that most people couldn't think of anything to ban/dwindling interest in the BJSC...

What's really killed it off in my mind from about XXI onwards is the sheer lack of imagination, and these utterly pointless entries romping on to win or come top 3 every time. Sheelah and Eric Saade are too little too late I think, I gave up caring as much circa whenever I sent the 2nd rate Atomic Kitten :lol: Which is a shame because Backseat and Psycho were both amongst my favourite songs that I'd ever sent but I'd be lying if I said that I cared much if they'd come 1st or 21st, certainly not to the extent of how obsessed I was with it in late 2008-mid 2009 :drama:

I doubt France or Georgia will ever send songs good enough to get in my top 3 rankings :smoke: :P

 

And I doubt Slovakia will be topping the odds anytime soon :kink:

Let's not prejudge, who knows when either one will come up with a Lena equivalent :kink: In terms of performances on the night, France have been damn close to if not in my top 5 for three years running now :o

Hollywood was really quite a symbolic entry to be honest...someone sending something utterly cheap and pointless out of a compulsion because they couldn't think of anything else, rather than just dropping out if they felt uninspired.

Ok, I take back what I said about France never being able to send something which would be in my top 3 rankings. At one point in 2008 (after all songs had been selected!!!), they were at #5 in my rankings :kink:

 

I still stand by what I said about Georgia though. "We Don't Wanna Put In" probably would've been top 10 in my rankings, though. And "Shine" was in my top 10 on the night, based on performances. But the songs are normally only "Good" or below, with the on-the-night performance making it better.
