Posted July 13, 200619 yr Bailey Rae picks up platinum sales award Source: Music Week Corinne Bailey Rae has picked up her first Europe platinum award, for the eponymous debut album released in February. Bailey Rae is one of five artists to pick up IFPI platinum Europe awards in June. Johnny Hallyday album Ma Vérité also won its first platinum award for sales in Europe, buoyed by huge sales in his native France. During his 40-year career, Hallyday has racked up 33 number one singles in France. Kaiser Chiefs debut Employment picked up an award for crossing the 2m sales mark in Europe, as did 50 Cent's Get Rich Or Die Tryin'. REM picked up an award for crossing the 3m sales mark with The Best Of REM 1988-2003
