This week the Eminem and Rihanna duet, "Love The Way You Lie", is poised to knock summer smash "California Gurls" from it's 6 week #1 streek on the Hot 100 chart. With a whopping total of 2 entries ("Not Afraid" debuted at #1 & "Rude Boy" held it down for five), it sets both these artists off to a jump-start lead of most chart toppers in this very early new decade.

Eminem obtains his first back-to-back set of #1 singles and his first time having two singles hit the position from the same album. "Lie" is his 4th charting at the sumit of the Hot 100 chart in his record-breaking career. His current album, "Recovery", has topped the Billboard Top 200 for it's 4th week and is currently the fastest selling album of the year.

Rihanna collects her 7th #1 single, the most accumlated by any female artist since 1998. At 22 years of age, she is the youngest female artist to ever obtain seven number ones. The following is a ranking of artists with the most #1 singles, of which she also ranks the highest of any debut artist in over 15 years:

The Beatles - 20

Mariah Carey - 18

Elvis Presley - 17

Michael Jackson - 13

The Supremes, Madonna - 12

Whitney Houston - 11

Stevie Wonder, Janet Jackson - 10

Bee Gees , Elton John, Usher - 9

George Michael, The Rolling Stones - 8

Phil Collins, Rihanna - 7

Impressive accomplishments from both artists! Add the gritty tale of domestic abuse to the playlist of this summer's pool party anthems.

Seeing her on that list of fantastic artists is great to see!

Who'd have ever thought this when we first heard 'Pon De Replay' haha

it's crazy that her singles have done so well, but her albums still haven't sold all that much...
yeah I would say she is much more of a singles artist in America than she is an albums artist
