Sony BMG Announces Superstar Release Schedule

More than 100 of Sony BMG’s marketing directors from around the world, as well as representatives from the company's labels, international marketing management team and Global Digital Business division, recently gathered in Malta for the Annual Global Marketing Conference and internal launch of Sony BMG’s Summer and Holiday release schedule. The second half of 2006 truly represents one of the most exciting line-ups ever, with upcoming albums from superstar artists such as Beyoncé, John Legend, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, OutKast, Evanescence, Bob Dylan, Justin Timberlake, George Michael, Oasis, and many more.

Christina Aguilera, "Back To Basics" (RCA)

OutKast, "Idlewild" (Soundtrack) (Zomba)

Bob Dylan, "Modern Times" (Columbia)

Audioslave, "Revelations" (Epic)

Beyoncé, "B’Day" (Columbia)

John Mayer, "Continuum" (Columbia)

Jessica Simpson, "A Public Affair" (Epic)

Justin Timberlake, "Future Sex/Love Sounds" (Zomba)

Tony Bennett, "Duets: An American Classic" (Columbia)

Evanescence, "The Open Door" (Wind-Up)

John Legend, "TBA" (Columbia)

Julio Iglesias, "Romantic Classics" (Columbia)

George Michael, "25" (Greatest Hits) (UK)

And if that’s not enough, there are also upcoming releases from Maroon 5, Amerie, Rod Stewart, Jamiroquai, Ciara, Il Divo, Jennifer Lopez, Barry Manilow, Tenacious D and a greatest hits album from Oasis.

:(

Oh the money obsessed t****.

A greatest Hits album is for pop stars, most Rock bands don't release them until they break up. Oasis clearly don't want to release one so it is ridiculous

It will sell ALOT though i'm sure but would'nt Xmas time be better

Agreed ^_^

IMO Oasis should release a greatest hits album, but only when they break up. If sony go along with the idea then there just cashing in, even though its against the bands whishes.

yeah i really hope they don't release this.

untill the very end. still it's probably gonna be out later than summer i reckon.

thats if it's true.

This is good news cos it will be good

Maybe they're taking a break or something so they've given it the go-ahead?

Or if not and they were that bothered I'm sure that they could end up getting it canned?

Nope, apperently their is nothing they can do about it :( Their record company just want to make money and that is all they care about. An Oasis GH may contain their greatest singles but certainly would'nt be a proper "Best of" as most of their best songs were not released -_- but are just as famous as alot of the singles. ^_^

I don't think it is a good idea cause they are a rock band and are against that sort of thing. It is for pop stars or bands who have been around for alot longer than 12 years -_-

The article is not talking about Summer ! But 2nd half of 2006 ! :) It's Oasis and there will be a huge marketing campain for their first collection ! And I really hope a video collection, too...

What's really strange is that the band have absolutely no word on this... It's at least 18 minths Noel is saying he doesn't want a GH collection... let's wait for the tracklist: if they don't have new tracks, maybe they'll fill it with rarities... and there are so many ! :o

Hmmm, bad move :( I hope it dosent happen, Oasis are better than a cheap greatest hits cash in

I hope it does not happen.

Oasis rightfully want to go down the Pink Floyd & Led Zeppelin route of not ripping off their audience with Best of compiliations until they are no more, however a new B-sides compiliation would not have gone a miss.

it will sell very well though, but i remember reading the gallaghers are not for a g hits album until oasis are all over
I'm not so sure about a greatest hits album. Even if they do release it I'll defo buy it. But alot of popstars do release a greatest hits album then it all goes pearshaped for them -_-
they have enough material to do a good greatest hits package, but i would love them to release a live greatest hits cd

George Michael releasing another Greatest Hits album ? he has had like 2 songs since Ladies And Gentlemen

His legal bills must be mounting

He released 2 albums, after the Ladies & Gentlemen GH: the album with the red cover, Songs from the back century or something like that... the one with the cover of Roxanne. And Patience, that did very well, not only in UK... The GM GH is called 25.

back to Oasis GH, Stop The Clocks is rumored to be included in it ! :o :o :o

-_- Yeah, Jo whiley confirmed the album is called 'Stop The Clocks' and said it would be out in november and would feature b-sides aswell...

Personally, i can't stand oasis, i think they are incredibly overrated but

im sure this will be another number one ;)

it will be a huge seller i think especially that it will have b sides also, could well sell over the million mark i think as they have a strong body work of material behing them and are well worthy to release a greatest hits

Jo Whiley confirmed two b-sides on it; "Aqueinse" and something else but I can't remember what it was.
