July 28, 201014 yr That Tisdale song would sound EXACTLY the same if it was sung by anyone from Miley Cyrus, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Ashlee Simpson or any of the pop/rock girls. Yes but none of those girls are anywhere near as hot as Miss Tisdale :teresa: Paloma Faith annoies me. "New York" is fine, but shes a bit of freak really, isnt she?
July 28, 201014 yr Whats with all this Paloma hating? The woman is godly and this is the end of the matter. I've just realised aswell, Diana Vickers is still to come isnt she? Oh good god.
July 28, 201014 yr Paloma Faith is AMAZING. That is all. Brandy is also undoubtedly one of the best of her genre.

Duffy has a lot to thank this incredible talent for that's for sure! And she so made the beehive hairstyle cool before Declinehouse got there. Springfield is one of few British artists to have success in America scoring 18 Billboard 100 hits during the 1960s. Wishing & I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself are amongst her slew of hits whilst she is most famous in the pop crowd for appearing on the Pet Shop Boys What Have I Done To Deserve This/ Dusty is also the only lady in the countdown to no longer be with us having passed away in 1999 due to a long battle with breast cancer though she left a legacy of music that shaped the way females were perceived in a male dominated industry. http://www.retrochick.co.uk/retroblog/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/geri.jpg 071= Geri Halliwell + 97 Pts + Stats Votes: 8 Highest Position: 2 Top Ten: 2 Years Active: 1996 - Present It's a bit odd to go from a musical legend like Dusty Springfield to Geri Halliwell within one post . Halliwell was the firey red head of British pop piece the Spice Girls who achieved the scale of world domination in the mid 90s that only The Beatles had seen before and Lady Gaga since. That infamous and iconic union jack dress and her loud, outlandish personality is possibly the big reason for her everlasting fanbase. Personally I always found Emma and Melanie C to be above her but when Geri left the group in 1998 to persue a solo career she unleashed an arson of horribly crafted, camp tunes that made a gay cruising area look safe. Sadly like the other Spices, her solo career had faded into obscurity by 2005 and she's done nothing of merit since. http://images.starpulse.com/Photos/Previews/Mary-J-Blige-u23.jpg 071= Mary J Blige + 97 Pts + Stats Votes: 7 Highest Position: 3 Top Ten: 2 Years Active: 1988 - Present Blige's fusion of Hip-Hop and soul have seen her win 9 Grammys and sell more than 40 million records worldwide! Citing the legendary [and unfairly missed out of this countdown] Aretha Franklin as her main influence, Blige is one of the most prominent and influential figures in the female RnB movement with eight multi-platinum albums under her belt. All these acolades aside and I can barely name three songs that she's recorded if I'm totally honest...

Nom nom nom. Elly Jackson of course is the bitter, opinionated and rather androgynous pixie who whittled on like a banshee in last year's monster smash In For The Kill. Personally I think La Roux make some pretty decent music when she sings normally. [Bulletproof anybody?] Jackson is just one of many artists currenly on the scene to be influenced by the 80s synth-pop movement from the likes of Yazoo, Depeche Mode & Human League. Whenever I hear people talk about her, she's very much the new Marmite. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2282/2420362174_e4d99f0dc9.jpg 069 Alison Goldfrapp + 101 Pts + Stats Votes: 10 Highest Position: 3 Top Ten: 1 Years Active: 1999 - Present I wished to joke about the #69 but that would be sad and well Alison Goldfrapp is anything but a whore. As her name suggests she is the frontwoman of the fantastically underrated Goldfrapp who up until 2010's horrendous letdown [Head First could do no wrong musically. Even the Queen of Mimes, Rachel Stevens was so swayed by their daring sound that she tried to imitate it on 2004's Some Girls. Goldfrapp's music is inventive and addictive with simple hooks built around swooning beats and Alison's breathy vocals. Their debut Felt Mountain is sublime and I demand y'all go and listen to it. http://www.belly-button-rings-guide.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/keri-hilson.jpg 068 Keri Hilson + 103 Pts + Stats Votes: 7 Highest Position: 4 Top Ten: 4 Bitch Slapped: 1 [Casey] Years Active: 2001 - Present Musically Hilson has only released one album [2009's In A Perfect World] and is probably most known for hanging onto other artist's records [Timbaland's The Way I Are], or using big names to sell her own music [Knocks You Down much?]. As you can probably tell I'm not a huge fan and find her to be irritating and an all round pointless RnB singer who does little to stand apart from the rest of the crowd. Congrats though to Hilson for scoring a legitimate top 40 SOLO hit in 2010 with I Like. Edit: She's also written for Britney Spears, Usher & Ciara so I suppose she's not TOTALLY irrelevant. July 28, 201014 yr I should listen to some Dusty Springfield songs, never heard of her, I guess that's cause I'm not British. ^_^ Oh, BY THE WAY, I just got to read what was posted about Corinne Bailey Rae, and you are soooo wrong  The girl is AMAZING, her work is a piece of art and her voice is the most amazing voice ever
July 28, 201014 yr Dusty - her collaboration with the Pet Shop Boys is amazing, and that track they produced for her which I forgot the name of, but it was ace. Geri - I like her, she'd be great to get drunk with. Mary J Blige - I respect her, and I like the odd song or two. Elly Jackson - :puke: Alsion Goldfrapp - now we're talking, brilliant woman. She was wearing exactly what she wore in that picture when I saw her live. :o Keri Hilson - Generic but talented R&B female with a good song or two, nothing special.
July 28, 201014 yr You have to start doubting some peoples sanity when Geri Haliwell appears in out top 100, and above people wth actual talent aswell. Mary is just legendery and should be much much higher, you cant knock someone as amazing as Dusty either and bless Keri, her album was actually very good. Goldfrapp were brilliant aswell, though the last album was very poor. La Roux has a couple of good songs but she isnt someone im overly bothered about.
July 28, 201014 yr Author http://www.bitchpleaz.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/gabriella-cilmi.jpg 067 Gabriella Cilmi + 114 Pts + Stats Votes: 14 Highest Position: 8 Top Ten: 2 Years Active: 2005 - Present Yet another artist I fail to see anything special about whatsoever. I'm a nice, happy person I swear. I just don't have a lot of love for some of these ladies and I'm not going to mince my words :P Cilmi is Australian and had breakthrough success in 2008 with the inescapable [and dreadful] Sweet About Me. Her debut album actually had some pretty decent pop tracks on there which took her soulful voice and combined them with a more pop-rock sound [Save The Lies <3]. I expected huge things in 2010 when everybody began raving about her comeback single On A Mission but it lacked spark and the parent album was just as limp. She is pwetty though. *nods* http://islandista.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/vv-brown1.jpg 066 VV Brown + 118 Pts + Stats Votes: 8 Highest Position: 2 Top Ten: 5 Years Active: 2007 - Present Underated talent with gems like Crying Blood at her disposal. Billed to be a huge success in the UK last year, VV's singles and albums underperformed massively. She has recently been able to gain minor recognition in the States though which has to cushion the blow a smidge. Loving the hair style too. http://cdn.sheknows.com/realitytvmagazine/2009/12/jennifer-hudson-looking-gorgeous.jpg 065 Jennifer Hudson + 121 Pts + Stats Votes: 11 Highest Position: 3 Top Ten: 3 Bitch Slapped: 1 [DougJames] Years Active: 2004 - Present Hudson falls into the group of artists with one hell of an amazing voice yet lacking the material to back it up. The catchy Spotlight had me singing the harmonies for weeks but I just felt as if her album lacked substance. She's clearly a talent that needs appareciating, upstaging Beyonce in Dreamgirls and actually being a genuine talent from the pool of reality TV trash. Edited July 28, 201014 yr by GrAmii
July 28, 201014 yr Gabriella - she's an underrated talent and 'Don't Want To Go To Bed Now' (her best song) never got released here :( Ten is a great pop album and one of my favourites of the year. VV Brown - I liked 'Crying Blood', 'Leave' and 'Shark In The Water'. Jennifer Hudson - undoubtedly a great singer but she only has one or two decent songs to her name. :(
July 28, 201014 yr 3 brilliant artists there. I partically agree about Jennifer though, her album was great but perhaps lacking here and there. Gabriella and VV are absoultely brilliant. VV is terribly underated, her album was brilliant and Shark In The Water was the best song of last year. Her hair and her style is brilliant, and best of all, she's a complete and utter loon - what more do you want from an artist? I loved Gabriella's 2 album aswell. On A Mission was brilliant, infact everything from Ten was brilliant, one of the best albums of this year. She and VV should be so much higher than some of the trash still to come.
July 28, 201014 yr Author http://www.sonyatv.com/writers/images/image/kt-tunstall-20060302-112596.jpeg 064 KT Tunstall + 125 Pts + Stats Votes: 10 Highest Position: 6 Top Ten: 4 Years Active: 2000 - Present Flash In The Pan. Weird saying but it certainly applies to KT Tunstall. She was the 'in' thing back in 2005 with her fantastically crafted debut album Eye To The Telescope. Bringing a punch back to the more alternative female sound that had been lacking in the music of Dido, Norah Jones and Katie Melua, Tunstall sold over a million copies of the record and had success with its singles Other Side Of The World [] and Suddenly I See. Her 2007 follow up effort Drastic Fantastic despite having a brilliant title lacked the prominence and spark that had made her first album so outstanding. She is currently gearing up to release her 3rd album this Autumn. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_s_jpsS0Z7q8/StXJnkyuUQI/AAAAAAAAAcI/lg88YfSmEP8/s400/marina%20and%20the%20diamonds.jpg 063 Marina Diamandis + 126 Pts + Stats Votes: 12 Highest Position: 4 Top Ten: 3 Years Active: 2007 - Present A recent addition to the list. Marina has one of those voices that you'll either love or hate. I personally sit in the middle as her debut album Family Jewels is a bit hit N miss for me. I sense a similar career to KT Tunstall if I'm perfectly honest. There's nothing special about this woman that will give her long lasting appeal and her placing is an indication of people's adoption of what's currently hot over the legends of the past. http://cassettecouture.com/wp-content/uploads/kesha-489x735.jpg 062 Ke$ha + 127 Pts + Stats Votes: 9 Highest Position: 3 Top Ten: 4 Years Active: 2005 - Present My opnion of Ke$ha has changed drastically over the past year. At first I saw her as a cheap, slag trying to cash in on the mammoth success of Lady Gaga, but her debut album Animal, whilst lacking the massive hits The Fame [Monster] has, is far more consistant and doesn't contain a bad track. [Release Blind bitch!]. That said I'm unconvinced her whole trashy, 'brush my teeth with Jack' attitude is real and it gets rather repetitive and irritating. Negativity aside, Tik Tok has become one of the biggest worldwide hits of the past 12 months and any song that namechecks Mick Jagger deserves a pony. I'm still disgusted she wears her placenta as a necklace though :/
July 28, 201014 yr 063 Marina Diamandis + 126 Pts + I think she's special. Any girl that can write songs like Guilty, Numb, Oh No and Obsessions is good in my book. Edited July 28, 201014 yr by tonyttt31
July 28, 201014 yr KT Tunstall - she's good, although for me 'Other Side Of The World' and 'Another Place To Fall' are her only great songs. Marina - one of the best recent acts and has lots of potential, her album is marvellous. Ke$ha - gets too much stick, she's a good pop star, great fun and her album is a great unashamed pop album.
July 28, 201014 yr Gabriella is just fab! don't get me wrong i absolutely DESPISE sweet about me, but her new album makes up for that. VV is so underrated, as everyone has already pointed out. And Jennifer has a nice voice, but her songs are the deffinition of boring. edit: AHHH NO! I love Ke$ha! was really hoping for her a lot higher! Thats 3 of my top 4 gone now haha!
