Martyn died of double pneumonia at the age of 60 in January 2009. The album will feature the tracks "Stormbringer" (Beck), "May You Never" (Snow Patrol), "Sweet Little Mystery" (Devendra Banhart), "Small Hours" (The Cure's Robert Smith), "Go Down Easy" (Beth Orton), "Let The Good Things Come" (David Gray), "One World" (Paolo Nutini) and "Head and Heart" (Vashti Bunyan). Other artists contributing tracks to the album include Lisa Hannigan, The Swell Season, Blackships, Vetiver, Skye Edwards, Ted Barnes, Gavin Clark, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Brendan Campbell and Sonia Dada. "Work is well under-way on a tribute album that will feature many well-known artists singing their own interpretations of John's songs," read a post on Martyn's website. The album will hit stores on September 6.
