02 - We No Speak Americano is alright, but a little annoying. It spent 1 week at 57 in my chart

14 - I can't think what songs they've stolen elements from, but I recognised so many melodies. Maybe they're just instantly catchy, but I definitely felt like I'd known them before.

18 - Yeah, it had sword fighting and a woman in a red dress wailing  . Verka and Elitsa & Stoyan for Bulgaria were my favourites that year

30 - That was definitely not his finest moment.

34 - There were about 3 or 4 songs that I loved in this Unknown Pleasures, which is more than usual, but less than I liked the first time I took part in it a few years back.

35 - Yes that's right. Propane Nightmares was awesome, and the follow up single to that, The Other Side I think it was called, was also really good :D

02. I don't think 'WNSA' is annoying at all. It's a fun dance track with a funny music video. I was surprised to see the track sellin 89k the week it topped the UK charts.

14. I'll have to give these clips on iTunes a listen (on my pc at the moment) so I'll see if I recognise any melodies, or if they remind me of other songs.

15. I can't remember the Bulgaria entry at all. :( I'll never forget Verka purely because my brother in law downloaded the track and it became my neice's daughter's (yes, she's my great neice!!! :drama: ) fave song at the time. She would've only been 2 years old. Bless!

30. Neither was 'All I Ever Wanted'. 'Boton Ana' was his most unique and original (for it's time) song. Then they made the English version 'Now You're Gone' which surpassed my expectations and became this monster hit in the UK.

35. Don't think I thought much of 'The Other Side' to be honest. I think Pendulum have a long way to go if they're going to release another single that rivals 'Propane Nightmares' for its aceness.

Thanks for posting Mavoy :D

21 (16) M.I.A. - XXXO (16-16-21) [3 wks]- I started to like it for very catchy chorus

The chorus is good on this track although I'm charting the Jay Z remix moreso as that's the version I listen to.

Two great tracks but Alicia Keys' single is better. 'Daniel' peaked at no. 3 in my chart but tailed off fairly quickly.

Also Daniel was my best single of the year for 2009. I even bought Fur And Gold on recommendation by Doctor Blind, on the back of Two Suns. Bat For Lashes "Two Suns" remains one of the best albums of 2009 along with Florence and Little Boots.

My top albums of 2009 were 'The E.N.D.S', 'The Fame', 'It's Not Me, It's You' and of course 'Florence & The Machine'. Have to admit, I never checked out Two Suns but liked 'Daniel'. Hmm, whilst I thought 'Remedy' was an excellent pop song, Little Boots album seemed a bit lukewarm to me.

15 - Bulgaria was the woman wailing in her native language whilst banging a load of drums to a techno beat with what looked like her dad  . Haha, thankfully with no brothers or sisters I never will be a great uncle  There is a guy my age though who became a great uncle at 16, as he's like the 5th oldest of 9

30 - I quite liked All I Ever Wanted. I knew Now You're Gone was going to be huge as I was in six form at the time, and the song had been floating around for years under the artist DJ Alex. Everybody in my school knew it and loved it, the same thing happened with Everytime We Touch.

35 - Propane Nightmares will be hard to beat indeed!

15 - Bulgaria was the woman wailing in her native language whilst banging a load of drums to a techno beat with what looked like her dad  . It must be a little painful when you become a great something to someone, thankfully with no brothers or sisters I never will be a great uncle  There is a guy my age though who became a great uncle at 16, as he's like the 5th oldest of 9

15. OT; I became a great uncle aged 21!!! In fact my neice already has four kids and gave birth to twin girls early hours of this morning. :o One lad who lives on my estate was a great uncle before he was born. Great uncle at 16? :o I thought 21 seemed young to become a great uncle.

30. Didn't know that about "DJ Alex". :o I remember Cascada going top 10 in USA and I predicted at the time on ChC that it'd be a massive hit and most posters responded with comments like "that will never happen". Hits WIN :D

35. 'In Silco' wasn't Pendulum's debut album was it? Had they released material prior to 2007?

15 - Congratulations on the new editions to the family :D . Oh actually, I'm confused, my friend became an uncle at 16. For some reason I was thinking he was uncle to his brothers and sisters  . Blonde moment :(

30 - I think it was DJ Alex anyway... that's what everyone had it on their phones under  . It was basically the Basshunter version at a higher pitch  . It is great when you predict something right :D My biggest "successes" were predicting big things for Amy Macdonald and Alphabeat before they took off. I know both have only had moderate success though :( . I'm not so great and predicting anymore. I did a Sound of... list for this year, and of the 10 acts only about 5 have been vaguely successful - and they were included on all the ones to watch lists  :(

35 - They had an album called Hold Your Colour, which was a lot less mainstream than their last two albums. Slam was a pretty cool tune :D

15 - Cheers  Not seem them yet might take a ride up on Saturday. ^_^ Oh I made the same mistake with the lad who lives near me. He became an uncle before he was born. Double blonde moment.

30 - Amy Macdonald = moderate? Maybe in the UK but Amy is very popular across Europe which have to admit really took me by surprise. Especially the single 'This Is The Life' which spend something like 39 weeks (three quarters of the year) in the HET30 without once dropping out of the chart and re-entering. Even Juanes 'La Camisra Negra' - which spent 43 weeks in the HET30 had its chart run cut when it fell out of the top 30 for one week only to re-enter. Ok, that's really OT.

35 - Oooh I think I remember 'Slam' - might YouTube that to rejog my memory.

06 (--) Gorillaz - On Melancholy Hill (06) [1 wk]

Personally, I think 'On Melancholy Hill' is by far the best track that's been released from Gorillaz's latest album. From what I have heard, it doesn't seem a patch on 'Demon Days' which was a brilliant album.

About to post my new chart. ^_^
