Now this very minute - what is the point of sending me an email NOW about buying tickets for Chicago???

I have been on their mailing for years, and never got an email for Chicago tickets before!!!

are they rubbing salt in the wound!

and it seems to have been extended to october, so it is obviously doing well. obviously I will not be buying

Unlees a certain person comes back as BF :D

It has in fact been extended to 2007, Pip. I think they usually set up bookings for tickets for 3 to 6 months in advance.

The only reason I would make a special trip to a London theatre would be to see Darius. There's no other show or person I can envisage myself doing it for.

P.S. the same e-mail is sitting in my in-box. I haven't bothered to open it.

WOS says booking until april 2007. However it is going on tour in October and the only part confirmed so far is jennifer ellison as Roxy.
I'm sure I read the 2007 bit in a news article on the main page - not a separate one but one was talking about another production too ( I can't remember which). It was as if they were just reiterating something that was already known about Chicago.
I hope he does something else. I'll be going to 'Chicago' again anyway but, I'd like some live gigs.

From broadway.com. although not strictly Darius related ormaybe it could have been - quote

Usher To Make Broadway Debut In 'Chicago'

July 14, 2006

R&B superstar Usher will soon be crooning a Broadway melody. The multi-platinum recording artist and five-time Grammy winner will take over the role of conniving lawyer Billy Flynn in the long-running musical revival "Chicago," making his Broadway debut, producers Barry and Fran Weissler announced today (July 14).

"I have always admired Broadway actors for their showmanship, dedication and focus that goes into performing live on stage every night," the 27-year-old Usher said in a statement. "Being on Broadway allows you to connect to audiences in a whole new way that's different from music and movies." The artist opens Aug. 22 in "Chicago" and will appear through Oct. 1.

As much as I love Chicago, and would go again if Darius was in it, I hope he isn't.....I could do with a change.

I too want to see gigs and him performing his own music.

this is true - I think I just want D to be recognised for his talent

as for Usher on Broadway?? as BF what a wierd choice!

Usher's been in some films hasn't he or am I mixing him up with P Diddy or whatever his name is just now? He should be able to act, he's got an American accent so he doesn't need to think about that, he's quite a good singer, although I don't remember him having much power in his voice, and he's fit so he should be able to dance.

I should think he'd be a lot smoother and urbane than Huey Lewis.

Must admit I find it strange

....so it would be October at the earliest.....time to save ;)

Unless his song writing has given him enough material to release and then it'd be better for him to have started the small gigs.
