<_< guess who missed this

Me! :(

I'm sorry I didn't see it . Bill is right. Darius is good at interviews and/or presenting. I've always found him impressive on shows like Matthew Wright, Heaven and Earth etc. where he is asked for his opinion about more serious topics than whom he was last seen with, how tall he is or PI related rubbish.

When Darius did the section about the 1000th number one for the BBC News, he started with a little trailer. I remember Natasha saying he was so good he'd soon be replacing Bill on the couch. Maybe that was just wishful thinking on her part.

I don't think I've ever known Darius represent The Princes Trust on the TV re an English or national event before. He's always seen as the Scottish representative and relegated to regional cover, although we know from Rex Features and other sites that he regularly does work for the charity in England too.

In almost 4 years as an "ambassador" of the Trust, Darius has never appeared at any Princes Trust concert.

well, hope he had a lovely time and caught up with Geri - looked on wireimage but obviously male photographers so no chance of being in a a photo unless you are a busty gal in a flimsy dress - or stood next to one like Rod Steward, or the prince.
I think one of the big mags eg hello, OK etc must have an exclusive because the few pics I saw all have a 28 day embargo.
Iy would have been nice to be a fly on the wall at this party because Ferm Britton was there.

I hope if Natasha was there, the super bubbly Fern managed to contain herself and not flirt outrageously with Darius like she always does on This Morning.

With thanks to feral cat -

A right royal day out

My role as ambassador for the Prince's Trust stepped up a notch in the style stakes last week as ambassadors, mentors and the team behind making the charity so successful were invited to a special Garden Party in Buckingham Palace to mark the Prince's Trust's 30th birthday.

I decided my mum was the perfect date for the occasion and we headed off to London the day before to soak up a bit of the big city.

We decided to act as the typical tourists and made Madame Tussauds our first pit stop. We were suddenly greeted with Tom Jones, Will Smith and Ant and Dec. The models were so scarily lifelike that for a half a second I expected them to jump out at us.

From spotting the wax work celebs we went to spotting them for real at the Garden Party.

The attire was to be rather summer formal with a hat being optional nowadays!

Mum and I arrived at the grand golden gates of the palace and spotted Vernon Kay and wife Tess Daly who look remarkably taller in the flesh and even more glam.

We meandered through the entrance hall surrounded by ornate paintings steeped in history before making the precarious walk down the staircase into the gardens glowing in the hot London sun.

The lake within the gardens is such an unusual sight in the centre of the city and it was easy to forget the craziness and hustle bustle of city life beyond the palace gates.

As we picked up our plates of scones and tea the crowds assembled a human corridor as the whispers hinted that Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall were about to arrive. We primed ourselves in position as the royal pair strolled along chatting to the crowd.

As Prince Charles approached us he shook my hand and asked what my connection was with the Trust and asked when we had arrived over from Belfast. He then spotted my mum and shook her hand also!

Many famous ambassador faces arrived to support the day and were more than happy to pose for pictures with their fans. Joan Armatrading was the first famous face followed by ex-Spice Girls Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell walking hand in hand.

Pop Idol star Darius was holding court with a few female fans alongside his actress girlfriend Natasha Henstridge, while Queen guitar legend Brian May and ex-Eastender star wife Anita Dobson arrived shortly after.

Rock legend Rod Stewart was looking rather dapper if not slightly ridiculous with his leggy partner in tow hovering two feet above him. Jools Holland added to the music celebrity line up with Lemar and Pete Waterman in attendance too.

A gorgeous Carol Vorderman brought along her mum while Sir David Frost, Philip Schofield, Fern Britton, Fiona Bruce, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Alan Titchmarsh, Journey South and Will Young all managed to have the same head turning effects on the crowd.

The tea party was beautifully presented with chef Antonio Carluccio donating the most gorgeous chocolate truffles for those with a sweet tooth.

It was certainly a once in a lifetime affair and the young people who have benefited from the Trust's work were looking as happy about their invite as we were.

Sundy life.

I don't think it'd bother Fern if Natasha or her husband was there. She just thoroughly enjoys it. The other two would just be laughing.
