August 6, 201014 yr http://www.omgmusic.com/news/robbie-willia...l-illuminations Forget news that Robbie Williams is getting married this weekend - it has just been announced that the singer is to switch on the Blackpool Illuminations this year. The event is organised by visitBlackpool, Smooth Radio and Real Radio, and will see the Take That star turn on the lights in the seaside town on September 3. On being invited to the annual switching, Robbie himself said: "Blackpool has so many happy memories for me and it will be a real thrill to turn on the 2010 Illuminations which I am told are seen by three million people every year. "This will cap my 20th year of making music and I can't think of a better place to celebrate that than Blackpool."

August 10, 201014 yr Robbie's Ayda cries in dad reunion ROBBIE WILLIAMS' bride AYDA FIELD cried during a telephone reunion with her estranged dad just hours before her wedding. Advertising agency boss Haldun Evecan - who split with Ayda's mum when she was a young girl - revealed he talked to the US actress on Saturday morning. Haldun, 68, left California in 1982 to live in his native Turkey and had no further contact with his daughter until she was 18. Speaking from his home last night in Istanbul, he said of the wedding call: "We were on the phone for about an hour together. "I was wishing her happiness and apologising that I hadn't been there for her as she was growing up." He added: "I told her that I didn't give her much and certainly not as much love as I would have liked and that will haunt me my whole life. "My beautiful daughter replied, 'Baba (daddy in Turkish) you gave me the best gift of all - you gave me life'. "We were both in tears during the call, but they were tears of joy. She was very happy to be marrying Robbie and I'm happy for her." Ayda, 31, got hitched to Robbie at the singer's £12million Los Angeles mansion. Her mum Gwen Field, a Hollywood producer, was among 40 friends and family who watched- the couple exchange vows. Gwen was married to Haldun for four years between 1978 and 1982. Now he runs a successful ads agency in Istanbul. His other two daughters Ilgi, 22, and Oyku, 18, met Robbie, 36, during a trip to America last year. Following the US wedding, Haldun is now hoping to throw a second celebration for the couple in Turkey. Ayda - whose pals suspect a baby could soon be on the way after Robbie had a nursery built at his Beverly Hills home - went to Turkey five years ago to meet her dad. Now she has invited him to the US to SING with Robbie. Haldun said: I have always enjoyed singing and SINATRA's My Way is one of my favourites. I asked Ayda who she thought sang it better - me or Robbie. Ever the diplomat, she said that when I come to the States she's going to take me and Robbie to a karaoke bar. She will then listen to us one after the other before she decides." The SUN Edited August 10, 201014 yr by Cleo
August 10, 201014 yr Robbie Williams enjoyed his wedding reception so much he is having another one. The Take That star and his new wife Ayda Field are planning a celebration in Turkey where her family live. A source close to Robbie, 36, said: “He is really up for it and can’t wait to throw another reception and meet all his new family. “Robbie was aware they couldn’t make it to LA and wants to give them a similar day to remember.” And 31-year-old Ayda’s dad Haldun Evecan, 68, said they were looking forward to meeting the star. The Istanbul advertising chief added: “Ayda wants to see her gran Sabahat again. She’s 92 and would love to dance at Ayda’s wedding.” Evecan and Ayda’s mother Gwen were married in 1978. After they split four years later he returned to Turkey and had little contact with his daughter in the US. But the pair had an emotional phone chat on the morning of her wedding to Robbie last Saturday. Evecan said: “I apologised for not being there as she grew up and not giving her much. “She replied: ‘Baba you gave me the best gift of all…life.” The Mirror

August 23, 201014 yr ROB'S NO LONGER A LONE RANGER http://i34.tinypic.com/jt9sa0.jpg AFTER a hard day wrestling with cattle, cowboys like nothing better than getting off their horses and in to the nearest saloon. It can be hard, lonely work out on the ranch. I suspect ROBBIE WILLIAMS and GARY BARLOW have little first-hand experience of those stresses. But it didn't stop them filming a spoof of gay cowboy flick Brokeback Mountain to promote their duet Shame. This is an exclusive shot from the duo's first joint venture. Rob co-wrote and performed the song - to be released on October 4 - with his one-time TAKE THAT nemesis. The track is also on Rob's greatest hits album In And Out Of Consciousness - which is out a week later. Source The SUN Edited August 23, 201014 yr by Cleo
