Posted August 5, 201014 yr Who likes most of his songs then? Just playing Greatest Hits, from 2007, which includes all his old stuff and also the collaborations on Gut records in the late 90's. My fave song by him is Help Yourself. He did a good cover of Move Closer, the Phyllis Nelson song.
August 5, 201014 yr I liked his reload album from 1999, a colloboration with current acts of the time. Can never understand why he hasnt done another one as its his biggest selling album. If I only Knew, a 1994 single produced by Trevor Horn was also good. Edited August 5, 201014 yr by fiesta

I remember he was going to do a ‘Reload 2’ with Gut Records, but V2 offered him a better deal. I think he should have stuck with a Gut contract, as when he signed to V2, they ended up releasing that “Tom Jones International” song with Wyclef Jean, which was slightly embarrassing. At this point, some might say that Wyclef Jean’s election [as President of Haiti] would be for the best, as it would stop him making any more records like “Tom Jones International”, though to give Jean credit I thought that his solo hit “Gone Till November” was an excellent single. August 8, 201014 yr Really can't stand his music im not a fan either, but he had one hell of a voice and could sing (he even impressed elvis)... unlike todays balladeer counterparts like westlife...
August 8, 201014 yr Mixed feelings about the guy, quality voice but his Reload stuff onwards was a bit sad tbh, nothing is more embarrassing than a man in his 60's trying to pretend he is 17 again by singing with loads of trendy artists and doing EMF and Prince covers etc, bit of a mid life crisis job I think even if some of the songs were quite good. Tom Jones doing duets with artists popular with youngsters is a bit like a teenage lad taking his grandad to a rave.

Agree somewhat Craig yet Reload is his best-selling album in the UK and is 4 times platinum. Sold about 1.2 million. None of his other studio albums or even GH come anywhere near a million even!
