05 (--) The Hoosiers - Choices (05) [1 wk] Excellent comeback from The Hoosiers. If someone had told me at the start of this year that they'd be challenging for a number one on my chart, I would have laughed!

Challanging for #1 eh? :D Must take a look at your chart to see what's going on Ghostyland. :D True though, I never expected The Hoosiers to return with their best single...but could predict their inevitable "good song" fail in the UK charts. -_-

06 (--) Marina & The Diamonds - Oh No! (06) [1 wk] I really like this one now, but I don't recall liking it much when I previously listened to the album for some reason

This is really instant for me. On par with 'Hollywood' and tbh if i wasn't for my strong top 4 (by fair my fave four songs charting at the moment), Marina could well have been top 3.

28 (18) Katie Melua - A Happy Place (18-28) [2 wks] Shame to see this falling, I've got into it a lot more this week :D

It's just not 'The Flood' though. :( That song had something really special about it whereas this sounds just like 'The Flood' so the surprise factor was non-exsistant when I first listened to this.

30 (--) Ne-Yo - Beautiful Monster (30) [1 wk] Yet another number one that fails to make my chart

What is wrong with the Grate British iTunes buying public? I feel ashamed that UK is representing some complete and utter non-songs as the countries #1 hits of 2010. It really does pale in comparison to 2008 and 2009.

31 (--) Chicane feat. Adam Young - Middledistancerunner (31) [1 wk] Pretty good, but very similar to Poppiholla or whatever it was called  . Not sure why they went with Owl City's real name though, would have thought it would sell a few more copies if they used his stage name

I don't think even crediting the guest vocalist as Owl City would've made much difference. 'Umbrella Beach' performed dreadfully in the UK charts but then again it was a bit of a ho-hum single. I suspect Owl City will always be a one hit wonder in the UK - but what a hit is was!!! ^_^

40 (29) Lena Meyer-Landrut - Satellite (02-03-05-09-13-13-18-24-29-40) [10 wks] Shame to see this plummet for what I assume will be it's final week? :(

I reckon so but 10 weeks in my chart is a good feat for a Eurovision related song. I don't have any records of my charts from 2009 ( :drama: ) but I think 'Lose Control' by Waldo's People lasted about 10 weeks too.

Excellent chart as per usual! :D

Aww, gee...thanks!!!

05 - It is such a shame they stalled at number 11. I'd say it deserved top 5 last week at least!

06 - Hollywood was great. I think I prefer that to this, and Obsessions is my ultimate favourite of hers.

28 - Hmm, I guess. I tend to ignore similarites in sounds of each artist's album era though, as quite a few acts produce albums with similar sounding stuff. Katie was a bit different in that fact though in that she released 3 albums which sounded the same :kink: . That might also contribute to why I like A Happy Place quite a lot as it's still quite different compared to everything other than The Flood.

31 - Aww, I really liked Umbrella Beach! I much prefer it to Fireflies, but yeah he'll be a one hit wonder no doubt. Last time I said that was about Rihanna though

40 - Oh no! :( Did they all go down with ChC too? I always print out my weekly charts just incase. Lose Control was legendary, lasted over a year on my chart!

05 - Justice for The Hoosiers. :( I suspect the track will get a small boost when the album is released next week as people will cherry pick the album version.

06 - I've not heard 'Obsessions' actually. I did like 'Hollywood' but it performed better in my chart as it was released at a really poor period for UK chart releases. There's no doubt the UK charts improved over the last few weeks. Shame it doesn't look set to last.

28 - Katie Melua is my guilty pleasure - I like tracks like 'The Closest Thing To Crazy'. It probably explains why 'What A Wonderful World' was my Xmas no. 1 in 2007. I was shocked that it was heading to no. 1 in the UK. I checked the song out on YouTube and really liked it. :drama:

31 - Rihanna? I remember back in the days of Cool Clarity (about 5 years ago this was) somebody started a poll asking "Who is better; Ciara or Amerie". I posted Rihanna based on her debut single 'Pon De Replay' as I preferred that song to the average 'Goodies' and the hidious '1 Thing'. The rest, as they say, is history. I also predicted big things for Fall Out Boy in 2005 too. That sort of worked.

40 - Yeah, I have a really strange password on Haven forum which for several months I couldn't remember so I just posted my chart on ChC. I finally rememebered my Haven password around October last year and was able to start posting my chart again there. Still, about 10 months of personal charts...gone!!! :( 'Lose Control' was excellent and totally didn't deserve to finish last at Eurovision although the live performance on the night wasn't exactly brilliant. Waldo's People should've just recreated the video and have the rapper lay on the floor with the girls looking on singing and adding melodramatic dancing.

06 - Yeah, Hollywood was a number one for me :o . I did love it though

28 - Same, I love Nine Million Bicycles and If The Lights Go Out.

31 - Yeah, I was expecting her to do a Lumidee tbh. That was an epic fail of a prediction for me :(

40 - That's a shame, must be quite annoying too :( . Yeah, the live performance of Lose Control was pretty awful :( . It did have a fairly decent score for a last placed song though.

My faves are:

01 (01) Travie McCoy feat. Bruno Mars - Billionaire (01-01) [2 wks]

03 (03) Eminem feat. Rihanna - Love The Way You Lie (02-02-03-03) [4 wks]

05 (--) The Hoosiers - Choices (05) [1 wk]

06 - Yes, I rememeber when 'Hollywood' made #1 in your chart. Peaked at no. 2 for me - iirc, 'If We Ever Meet Again' by Timbaland feat. Katy Perry kept the track off the no. 1 spot.

28 - Looking my All Time chart database, Katie Melua has had the following top 20 chart history:

'What A Wonderful World' (no. 1)

'The Flood' (no. 2)

'I Cried For You' (no. 11)

'Nine Million Bicycles' (no. 12)

'The Closest Thing To Crazy' (no. 13)

'A Happy Place' (no. 18)

31 - Really? I don't know why I thought that. There just seemed to be something unique about Rihanna - possibly her vocal style.

40 - It's not that frustrating. Obviously if I was putting my "top 10 this week 1 year ago" into my personal chart thread, I'd be well and truly buggered. As for Waldo's People, I suspect they might have suffered due to the jury votes - a bit like Jessy Matador this year.
