Will Young wows Eisteddfod crowds

SINGING superstar Will Young was a big hit with almost 4,000 fans in the Pink Pavilion as the Eisteddfod came to a close.

For an adoring audience, the Pop Idol success story performed his repertoire of hit singles, including Evergreen, Anything is Possible, Your Game, Light My Fire, Leave Right Now and You & I.

The concert was part of the Heart and Soul campaign, aiming to change perceptions of The Valleys, attract more tourists and bring long-term economic benefits to the area.

The opening concert, featuring Only Men Aloud among others, was also supported by the Heart and Soul campaign.

 

 

Councillor Des Hillman, Leader of Blaenau Gwent Council, said: “All the shows were a tremendous success.

“We have staged a terrific festival of music and culture throughout the last 10 days on and off the Maes.

“Bringing national music stars to the Eisteddfod at The Works: Ebbw Vale has put Blaenau Gwent on the map in terms of media coverage and highlighted what the Valleys have to offer as we rebuild for a better future.”
