August 12, 201014 yr Finally, people who don't like Scrubs! :D So not funny. Never understood why it was so popular. I agree also, I find it dire, not funny at all.
August 12, 201014 yr Author 49 Bad Girls 238pts http://i38.tinypic.com/x0wh8o.jpg Buzzjack's favourite character: Natalie Buxton Time for another classic! Bad Girls was a ground-breaking British drama which ran for 8 seasons between 1999-2006. It quickly garnered a huge fanbase due to its relentlessly dark tone and gritty, realistic depiction of life in a womens' prison - casual violence, intense depression, heavy drug use and of course a fair bit of lesbianism. As the show went on, particularly from the sixth series onwards, the show become soapier and more melodramatic, possibly in the wake of the success of Footballers' Wives (made by the same production company), but retained its wicked sense of humour. What really made it great though was the wide spectrum of characters; classic inmates included Natalie Buxton (Buzzjack's favourite, a 'nonce' as the other women affectionately called her who had trafficed underage prostitutes into the country, and the prison's latter-day 'top dog'), Shell Dockley (pretty much the predecessor to Natalie, but a hell of a lot more entertaining and even more psychotic), the Julies (two women called Julie, funnily enough), Pat Kerrigan (a good-hearted lesbian who had a way with her fists) and possibly the most widely-remembered character of all, Yvonne Atkins, a well-intentioned gangster's moll who made an enemy of Shell before her slow, lonely death in an underground cell. Prison officers included Karen Betts (formidable but a bit boring - much better as superbitch Kim Tate in Emmerdale), Helen Stewart (a warm-hearted lesbian who resigned after falling in love with an inmate), Sylvia 'Bodybag' Hollamby (a grumpy, dumpy old witch despised by everybody) and the famous Jim Fenner, a truly evil bast*rd who managed to get away with murder (literally) before he too met a gruesome demise. Basically there was a hell of a lot going on. 9 times out of 10 it was highly entertaining drama.

I never watched Bad Girls (well the odd bit but didn't take notice) but I know I would have loved it, mabye one day I'll download it all!
August 12, 201014 yr Author Ha, yes, Eva Pope was in it, only for series six though. She was really bloody good, but then she is in everything she's in.
August 12, 201014 yr I must youtube it then :o She has a good voice for Lara Croft, if Keeley Hawes ever gives it up( Which I hope she doesn't as she is the best voice for Lara)
August 12, 201014 yr I adored Bad Girls! Sure, the quality dipped somewhat as it went on and perhaps it was the right decision to axe it when they did, so the show could still leave on a relative high. Top-quality drama though, a never ending mass of wonderful over-dramatic storylines and characters. I havent seen the first two seasons yet, but fully plan on doing so.
August 12, 201014 yr I never watched Bad Girls :(. Always thought it was one of those programmes that I should've but I never got round to doing so. OH WELL.
August 12, 201014 yr =54 Misfits 220pts http://media.comicmix.com/media/2010/01/19/misfits.jpg Buzzjack's favourite characters: Kelly & Nathan Arriving in the wake of popular British teen dramas like Skins and The Inbetweeners, Misfits, also shown on C4, sees five teens on community service develop superpowers after they're caught in a freak storm. If that sounds ridiculous it's because it is. Misfits got off to a slow start with a terrible first episode marred by some truly laughable CGI (British budgets clearly don't extend very far) but it found its groove two or three episodes in and became a funny, engaging, occasionally touching show with an ability to take the audiences places they never expected. Buzzjack's favourite characters are gobby chav Kelly (not much of a stretch for the actress) and the wildly inappropriate joker Nathan. Good stuff. I tried to watch this show, but I found it awful. Not funny or as entertaining as it's been made out to be. At all  49 Bad Girls 238pts http://i38.tinypic.com/x0wh8o.jpg Buzzjack's favourite character: Natalie Buxton Time for another classic! Reading your comment and review on it has made me want to search it out (for cheap) online! I really must buy them!
August 13, 201014 yr Oh, come, come now dude, there's far, FAR worse than Supernatural out there...... Just wait til we get to the real formulaic gash like CSI Miami or Bones...... Supernatural is a pretty damn well-written and made show for what it is.... Due in no small part to the likes of John Shiban and Kim Manners (X-Files) being involved.... There is worse than Supernatural I agree but it's one of those shows that started well and then became very formulaic and by season 3 I was struggling to keep interested. And in many ways it's too similar to X-Files but with weaker characters
August 13, 201014 yr Green Wing is utter genius. And if nothing else QI teaches you that everything you think you know is wrong Edited August 13, 201014 yr by BJBB Severin
August 13, 201014 yr 48 / How I Met Your Mother / 246 Points http://images.dailyradar.com/media/uploads/showhype/photos_large/2008/05/29/How_I_Met_Your_Mother.jpg Buzzjack's favourite character: Barney Now, I have never actually seen this show but I do believe it is something I should get into. It's dubbed by E4 voiceover man as 'Like Friends but without boring ruddy Ross' (which by the way is obviously a lie, since Ross is like the third best Friend.) From what I've heard about it from other people too it cetainly seems like my kind of thing, and I think it's pretty near the top of my list of shows to watch. 47 / Will & Grace / 248 Points http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_hfHjj9ezz-I/SudqC21xm9I/AAAAAAAAEfk/aYOr360jRWc/s400/KarenWillGrace.jpg Buzzjack's favourite character: Karen Well if you ask me, this show can be summed up in one word, Ugh. Never been a fan of this show and don't find it funny in the slightest, and I've seen enough of it to base that judgment on it. Clearly some people like it though to vote it so highly. Am I correct in thinking Karen is the irritating one with the high pitched voice? 46 / 8 Out Of 10 Cats / 251 http://www.comedy.co.uk/images/library/comedies/300/8/8_out_of_10_cats.jpg Ah, here we are. My personal favourite British panel show. This panel show hosted by Jimmy Carr is based on statistics and facts as welll as a large section devoted to the last week's news. Whilst, like any other panel show, the scoring is actually completley irrelevant, I find this show a complete hilarity. Captains Jason Manford and Sean Locke are exceptional comedians, and their guest list is always packed with brilliant choices, and Jimmy Carr as a host just seems to fit in to the setup despite me not being a great fan of his elsewhere.
August 13, 201014 yr I've only recently started getting into 'How I Met Your Mother', im hoping it will fill the Friends sized hole I will soon have. It's good though, nothing hugely original but good enough plotlines and likeable enough characters mean its good for some background telly. Never really liked 8 Out Of 10 Cats for some reason, and this is as someone who usually loves these type of shows. It just has the air of C4 trying to latch on to the sucess of Have I Got News, dumbing it down and coming up with 8/10 Cats. Im quite suprised to see Will & Grace this low to be honest, it appears half decent but i've never really watched that much of it.
August 13, 201014 yr =51 / Scrubs / 223 Points http://tvmedia.ign.com/tv/image/article/766/766617/scrubs-elliot_160_1172109279.jpg Buzzjack's favourite character: Elliot So Scrubs is up next, this American comedy set in Sacred Heart, a fictional teaching hospital. I have to say, despite this being E4s second biggest show for re-runs behind 'Friends' I have absolutley no interest in it and don't actually find it funny in the slightest. All personal opinion of course though, and clearly you all enjoy it as the 51st best show. =51 / Green Wing / 223 Points http://www.sitcom.co.uk/green_wing/graphics/char_sue.jpg Buzzjack's favourite character: Sue I'm not going to lie to any of you lovely Buzzjack watching audience, so let me get straight to this and say before this countdown I have never heard of this show. So allow me to give some fairly basic information I discovered. Green Wing is an award-winning British sitcom which is set in the fictional East Hampton Hospital Trust. However, although it is set in a hospital, there are no medical storylines. Interesting you have two hospital based sitcoms at #51. Coincidence? I think not. 50 / QI / 232 Points http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/qi.jpg Our first panel show of the countdown comes up now. This BBC2 show hosted by Stephen Fry. Like most panel shows, it of course focuses on comedy rather than being an actual 'quz' show, and the questions on QI in particular are always fairly obscure, with points not only awarded for correct answers but also for interesting ones. It's a fairly good panel show, but rightfully finishes below the rest in this countdown. Perhaps if Stephen Fry got a nose job I would find it more entertaining. Rightfully - When it is superior to the rest? You don't get on that show if you're merely a comedian like you do on the other panels shows. You also have to be very well read. Interesting that Srubs and Green Wing have equal points as they have often been compared. Unfairly, I might add, as Green Wing is one of the most creative shows I've seen and I was so glad they quit after 2 series, otherwise they would have ruined it. Edited August 13, 201014 yr by Sinner
August 13, 201014 yr Will & Grace . Always been a fan, Karen is the best character on it by a MILE, she has such amazing lines in the show. How I Met Your Mother is only okay tbh, nothing special. Something to watch when there's nothing else on I think.
August 13, 201014 yr Karen is an all time great character. Never laughed once at How I Met Your Mother.

Technically, they quit after the Christmas Special..... ;) Indeed, comparing Green Wing to Scrubs is a wee bit ludicrous....
August 13, 201014 yr Will and Grace is brilliant, Karen is just immense! 8 out of 10 cats is great too
