I expected Saturdays to go to number 1 at first as they were number 1 combined on itunes- however it now has stalled and is slipping, so I expect the song to slip around thursday- 4k is just not a big enough lead

I just always had a feel they would never get a number 1 and it looks like history is about to repeat itself with Flo Rida beating Saturdays- the song is ultimately just not that good, and Ne-Yo down to 4 already is pleasing- poor song tbh

oh and re-rule 10- I prefer Frankie personally :naughty:

they are number 1 and most likely gonna end up at 2 - to say the song is just not that good is not valid. plenty of people obviously think differently! - it wouldn't be top 3 if it wasn't good.

well its just my opinion - to phrase it differently, the song doesnt really appeal to a wide audience outside their growing fanbase enough to get number 1, so it probably will fall short- no disrespect to the song, but its just not really number 1 material

The notion that there is such a thing as 'number 1 material' is laudable but completely wrong.

There have been some completely $h!t songs that have made it to No. 1 in recent years, 'Crazy Frog' being the one that sticks out in my mind the most. All you need is momentum, hype and promotion - the actual quality of the music is, and to a certain extent always has been, secondary.

Just read through this thread and see the comments about 'Missing You'. Even Saturdays fans are admitting that it's nowhere near their best work, yet they're buying it anyway! That's lunacy IMO, especially with their album being released next week.

I agree with your last paragraph

the 'number 1 material' doesnt always apply yes, some get there for hype reasons or the fact it is them, Crazy Frog got there probably because the ringtone was big at the time- but with most number 1s, when you hear it you think 'this will go to number 1 and/or be massive' and thats what I mean by 'number 1 material' its loose and doesnt always work, but it has with most number 1s this year

I really don't believe in this whole "number one material" thing either.

This is probably the second worst single by The Saturdays to date, and they've had so many really good ones miss out, but I think it's more likely they'll retain the #1 spot with a 3.7k advantage. If they don't, I imagine they must really hate Flo Rida.

Predictions:

1. Flo Rida

2. Eminem

3. Saturdays

4. Ne-Yo

1. Eminem

2. Arcade Fire

I believe it is their best work. Only asingle i rate higher is ego. Missing you is amazing in my opinion.

I am a big fan of the girls and I must admit this song is'nt one of my favs but after it while it DOES grow on u. And alot of people are saying the same thing! It's like Flo Rida wants to rain on their prarade lol.

Is ITunes the midweeks? I am confused as it's says midwks the girls are #1 but iTunes say Flo is? x

I hope the sats hold number one, even though the video is $h!t and the blonde one needs replacing ASAP. I can see eminem/Rihanna climbing and knocking them off the topspot now the video is out.. but hopefully not.

The Midweeks are based on all sales, just like the Official Chart on Sunday.

We might see a slight difference today, I think Saturdays will still be #1 today, I know they have dropped on iTunes, their physicals should keep them at #1 today quite easily I think, it might just change to Flo Rida tomorrow, just have to wait and see.

I still think Flo Rida is going to bag the #1 on Sunday its pretty obvious now. I would rather have Eminem & Rihanna at #1 between the top 3 acts this week.

Unfortunately no chart data for today yet, probably after 11:30am, while you are waiting, just boil the kettle

The mids are in, staying strong at no.1 are...

Arcade Fire or The Saturdays?

Am I doing the update today, M!key?

Only have top 38 in the albums, Arcade Fire and BoB's albums have been listed twice on the MW database, QOTSA could be top 40. Radio 1 chart update at 3:30pm will remedy that situation.
Eminem back to #1 in the albums! Quite an incredible run so far, goes to show how essential it is these days to release singles close to each other
Kylie and Ellie appear to both be at #26 in Wednesdays midweek?

So kylie is 27, and ellie is 26. why put the maths in?

Glad sats still #1 but they wont be there at the end of the week.

WOO go eminem, wow the success he's had so far with this era is incredible. Love the way you lie is selling that album for sure ;)
