If it was down to the case of the rise in VAT in January retail sales would be going UP as people make big purchases before the VAT hike comes in

 

I still think it was due to millions being away in August and the $h!t weather but I will revise my opinion there if sales are still falling in November

I am not deluding myself into thinking everything in the garden is rosy, it is inevitable that there will be difficulties ahead both on the High St and in everyday business, it is inevitable but the media continually talking Britain down will just scare people more and more and make them stop spending which is totally unhelpful

OR, maybe it will convince the government to drop their idiotic plans.

Going back to the upmarket supermarket subject, I shop at Sainsbury's and M&S and I get lots of upmarket (posh) items, but that's only because I want the best for my family. I work at a high paying job which is one of the most high risk jobs which I probably won't keep due to the cuts from the CONservatives and FIB dems. That would result in my life being worse of, and 3 other lives being worse of (girlfriend (soon to be wife), and my upcoming baby). I won't be able to live good and i'm probably fitted right into the conservative clique, hopefully they'll be out of government before my baby will be in nursery. <_<
