All these parades that go on up and down the country each summer

Manchester Pride etc....

They should all have at least one float belting out Abba music and a few hot

chicks as Abba lookalikes....

that would really spice things up !

er.... I think you'll find they do. Although the, ahem, "hot chicks" (are you being serious here???) are usually hot drag queens....

I grew up with Abba. Great group, in my view, they wrote songs some of which are going to be around forever.

Very talented and important group in musical history, in my humble opinion.

Abba to me really are in my opinion the best group ever. I wish I was old enough to experience them when they were around in the 70s/80s. When I was a kid my dad used to play when all the time. I always wanted their albums so when the boxset came out with all of them in I bought it straight away. Other than their first two album (Ring Ring and Waterloo) I really cant fault them.

Its a shame that they are known as being this camp group because not all of their music was like that, especially towards the end. I dont even think a lot of their best songs were singles, their albums were so strong.

My eldest daughter aged 11, has an iPod filled with all her latest toons. Hidden away among Rihanna, the Black Eyed Peas and Lady Gaga is 'Under Attack'.

She likes 'Mamma Mia', 'Dancing Queen' and all the other, more well known tracks but she loves this song and nagged me for ages to download it for her.

She says all her mates at school like ABBA too; when I asked why she said "Melodies, dad. Melodies".

My sentiments exactly... I rue the day the film Mamma Mia came out.... it rubbishes their memory in my view and perpetuates the 'camp wedding disco' muzak tag they're (unfairly) lumbered with.

The Day Before You Came is, I think, one of the greatest songs ever written. Astonishingly great - even now 30 years on.

And richeyo - interesting that your daughter loves Under Attack - whilst it is one of their later songs, I remember it as being one of their least loved. I'm not that fond of it, either, it seemed a bit of a damp squib - especially when it was, officially, their last ever 'proper' single. I alwaysthought they sounded utterly jaded and bored on it.

When I look at the last few singles "Head over heels", "The day before you came" and "Under Attack" I just cant believe how bad they did. Yes they were loosing their appeal but in my opinion they are still brilliant songs.
