pitchfork told me i can't like them so I DON'T

(nah i just genuinely dislike them lolol, kraftwerk are f***ing incredible though)

No joke, Taschenrecher (Pocket Calculator) with the vocals in German, is f***ing incredible on vinyl.

I'm back into vinyl - the whole covers thing, the lovely limited editions, coloured vinyls, picture discs... yep.. SO much nicer than CDs or ghastly downloads.

Check The Vinyl Factory website - their limited editions are stunning... and, whilst pricey, their value rockets because they're so limited. Their recent releases for Grace Jones, Pet Shop Boys, Monkey..... all beautiful.

Lovely new vinyls I've bought recently?

Antony and the Johnsons - Aeon 7"

Antony and the Johnsons - Epilepsy is Dancing 7" (lovely artwork)

Pains of Being Pure At Heart - Say No To Love 7" (gorgeous cover light green vinyl)

Tracey Thorn - Oh! The Divorces - great artwork and grey transparent vinyl 7"

Bombay Bicyle Club - Ivy and Gold and Magnet 7"s

Massive Attack - Heligoland (Vinyl Factory triple vinyl - stunning packaging)

Massive Attack - Splitting the Atom 12" - as above - now worth a mint

Cocteau Twins - Treasure - in a limited Vaughan Oliver-designed box set - 180g vinyl - orgasmic...

Sex Pistols - Never Mind The Bollocks - yellow vinyl re-issue

Plus lots more I can't remember. Yep, vinyl every time... mate of mine's a sound engineer.... he's anal about how his music sounds - and always buys vinyl.... and uses analogue everything.

I kept all my vinyl from first time round, too, so I've an attic full - mainly promos and stuff from my years working in HMV....

antony <3 i am a bird now and the crying light are both on my radar when i visit any record store. i'm not a huge fan of getting vinyl via the internet because of charges and such but i do it for limited releases and whatnot. cocteau twins on vinyl sounds delicious, too.

Kate Bush - The Hounds of Love

Suede - Dog Man Star

I've just spotted the canine link to two of my favourite albums

I do far perfer vinyl to cd or download, theres just something special about it, I dont see it dieing out ever, I love a good trawl through vinyl at indie record shops and at record fairs, due to lack of time and funds my collection has been a bit post-poned, but I really want to get back into it. I think it's a gene thing for me, comes straight from my dad's love of vinyl.

there's just something MAGICAL about holding vinyl in your hands. the artwork all blown-up and huge. i dunno. it makes buying records worth it imo. like why would i spend the same amount of money on a cd-r / download when there's vinyl?
Vinyl is great because is so unreproducible. You can't just make a copy of a mates copy of an album like you can with cd, mp3 or even cassette.

i have no interest in buying CD's tbh unless they are cheap, or are limited/special edition, if it's not out on vinyl it's gonna get downloaded. then again i havent really brought much music for awhile. damn internet/the fact im poor. I love old vinyls as well. Theres the whole collecting thing about vinyl as well, much different to collecting CD's, you realise how special it is when you go to a record fair.

I have about 2000 vinyl records of various sizes. It's mostly post-punk and disco :)

Kate Bush - The Hounds of Love

so jealous of this!!

the vinyls that i have are mostly from the 80's that i've got from charity shops cos if an art project i did where i scratched the artist into their vinyls. my mum and dad have given me all their old vinyls too so there are way too many to name

I have around 2000 7" singles

and around 1000 Lps/12"'s

A few too many to list ;-)
