Posted August 15, 201014 yr So, Sharon Corr's long awaited (well by myself and Shoat at least) solo album Dream Of You finally comes out on September 13th, a full year after 1st single It's Not A Dream flopped in at whatever number in the hundreds. She followed this with the #27 charity single Me & My Teddy Bear, which thankfully doesn't feature on this album, for which this is the artwork and tracklist; http://img834.imageshack.us/img834/4369/sharoncorrdreamofyou.jpg 1. Our Wedding Day 2. Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime 3. It's Not A Dream 4. Mna Na Heireann feat Jeff Beck 5. Buenos Aires feat Alex Ubago 6. So Long Ago 7. Smalltown Boy 8. Cooley's Reel 9. Butterflies 10. Dream Of You 11. Real World 12. Love Me Better So a few covers, a few foreign language songs and what I can only assume are some traditional Irish songs from the name (Cooley's Reel?). The first single is a cover of The Korgis' Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime, due out on September 6th, which is a very pleasant and radio friendly/Corrs'-ish production, complete with an added violin solo naturally. This song's been covered and charted by everyone from Baby D to Marc Et Claude so it's not overly original, but it's perfect for Radio 2 and I'd be surprised if Heart didn't pick it up at some point a la Annie Lennox/Sharleen Spiteri. Hopefully there's better/more original material on the album though. d2eBLMJDqzY
August 30, 201014 yr EDITED It's a little more polished and pop than It's Not A Dream. It's not the most exciting listen, but it's got a nice chilled, dream-like quality to it which I like. It's not exactly the biggest departure from The Corrs though - at least Andrea TRIED to deviate from the old sound, even if it only scored her a #108 single. Sadly Sharon is clearly doomed for a #474 smash with this, and I'd be surprised to see the album in the top 75. She does look STUN GORGE though. Thoughts?
August 30, 201014 yr *tumble weed* http://www.moopy.org.uk/forums/images/smilies/evil.gif I haven't indulged my love of CORRS MOR for at least a month. Allow me to self-indulge. Where the HELL is Andrea's follow-up to TRACK OF OHSEVEN Hello Boys? She farted out 'Champagne Through A Straw' (a half-arsed cod-reggae take on Pink's "Stupid Girls") which I think reached the dizzy heights of #1098 or some other ridiculousness.
August 31, 201014 yr Im really looking forward to hearing this album, but i hope im very wrong in saying this i cant see it doing that well at all.
September 1, 201014 yr Author Video to Everybody's Got To Learn Sometime; 4CiC2wdt9d0 I'm not sure if I'm entirely sold on her as a solo artist, she has a gorgeous quality to her voice, but it was better flaunted as an occasional/backing vocalist as it was great for harmonies along with Caroline. I also didn't realise she played the piano as well as the violin! Still, she barely looks a day older than ten years ago, and the famous pout makes a number of appearances! The song's still a bit of an uninspired lead single, although it does it's job. Let's see what the album brings...
September 1, 201014 yr I like it as a nice cover version, although I do agree it's a bit uninspiring to push as a proper single. She does look gorgeous and classy though, and has a nice voice.
July 26, 201113 yr Author This album was re-released on iTunes this week with two new songs - Jenny's Chickens, which is a standard Corrs-esque instrumental and Over It which is actually a pretty damn good original pop song (with violin solo middle 8 naturally) and apparently her new single - not that that really means anything, I suppose Radio 2 might playlist it
November 15, 201113 yr Author Seems like both Caroline and Jim have joined Sharon on tour in various places recently. A performance of (the gorgeous) No Frontiers in Amsterdam yesterday; 8_IZCycC8wY I hope this means that we're getting closer to a Corrs reunion!
