With a guest appearance in Skins, the narrator of a classic Road Dahl tale and a theatre stint with the Royal Exchange, Will Young has taken the entertainment world by storm.

Now, embarking on a challenging role in Bedlam, the star is clearly determined to prove his multiple talents. And something tells us we haven't seen the last of him, yet.

Watch this space, showbizers.

There's a picture of him Kissing Kate on the link!

GAY chart-topper Will Young kisses a girl in a brand new TV drama and admits he liked it.

The former Pop Idol hunk, 32, has landed a role in a spooky new show called Bedlam.

His geeky character enjoys a steamy romp in the bathroom with a sexy girl.

Asked if he enjoyed his liptastic scenes with Tudors actress Charlotte Salt, 25, Will giggled: “It was lovely.”

The singer, who’s had two acting roles playing gay parts, said he was eager to prove gay men can take on straight roles.

Bedlam starts on Sky Living HD on Monday February 7 at 10pm.

According to Sandra on Baby D there's a bit in the Sun too but I can't find it online - she's typed it out for us:

Gay Pop Idol champ Will Young gets raunchy with a female star in his new telly drama and says he loved it. The singer 32 plays computer geek Ryan in Sky Living's supernatural series Bedlam and strips off with The Tudors actress Charlotte Salt, despite previously only playing gay parts. He said " was it rubbish kissing a girl? It was fine. As a gay man, there is no reason why you can't play a straight part. I read the script and knew I was going to be kissing a girl. For me, that was refreshing"

As he says - "refreshing". Baby steps William :D

Found it..

We got the opportunity to have a quick chat with Bedam Producer, Matthew Bird. So many questions, so little time.

Bedlam is a great concept. What's the idea behind it?

How many UK drama series have you ever seen that are scary? Not many? Exactly. Which is why the chance to make a new horror series for Sky Living was an absolute must. With original, engaging and scary scripts and working for one of the best independent drama production companies in the business, it became a complete no-brainer.

Exactly, we were thinking the same. What can we expect to see in the drama?

Bedlam uniquely balances everyday stories of a group of twenty something friends - living in the most haunted building in Britain - with horrific hauntings from the former asylum. The writers' ambition was to combine an interesting group of friends, an audience would love, with the atmosphere of a horror film and I believe they have achieved a genuinely new and innovative take on the genre. Hopefully Bedlam will prove to be one of 2011's must-view events.

We're sure it will be. We've been desperate to visit Bedlam Heights. It looks so scary. Where is it?

We scoured the country in search of our 'Bedlam Heights' and even travelled as far afield as Romania. But we eventually came to realise that we could best achieve our vision through a set of composite locations within a 100 mile radius, taking in Manchester, North Wales and West Yorkshire. So I'm afraid there is no 'real' Bedlam Heights., that's a shame. I really wanted to take the Sky Living team on a weekend away there. You've got some pretty impressive actors, how did you cast for the roles?

Casting was a remarkably smooth process. As soon as Will Young walked into the room (admittedly a little late) we all knew that he was Ryan.Jed and Molly came quickly from our casting sessions but Kate and Warren proved to be harder nuts to crack. After extensive sessions we still hadn't found our Kate. Our first director suggested an English actress based in LA that he had worked with. Off to LA to meet her seemed like a great idea. Like hell. We had a Skype conference call and suddenly realised we'd found our Kate. Hugo followed quickly afterwards and we've been delighted to have assembled such a talented cast.

And we certainly are glad that you've found them. I must say, it's a very attractive cast! Being a horror show, can we expect to see lots of fake blood and special effects?

Bedlam, being a ghost series, required us to take decisions on style and the use of effects and we resolved that we would resort to CGI as little as we could. Wherever possible we shot things for real and used CGI to enhance what we had achieved in camera. Only the viewers will be able to judge if we have achieved the right 'fright factor', but I feel confident that our aesthetic is unlike anything else on British TV.

Old habits die hard. Must have forgotten his ticking off by Dame Judy.

Loved seeing this in print.

We spoke to the multi-talented Mr Young about his latest acting role.

Nice

Charlotte Salt ..

What was it like working with Will Young?

I've grown up with Will Young since he won Pop Idol nearly 10 years ago. It was very much my era. My family are massive fans of his so it was slightly strange to be working with him. His public persona, of being a sweetheart, is exactly what he's like in real life. He's one of the easiest people to talk too and get on with and was an absolutely gem to work with

Thanks to Julie for the find.

Thanks girls - a bit more from Ashley:

Molly, Kate, Jed and Ryan are really good friends in the show, did you all get on behind the scenes?

I'd love to say that we hated each other as it would be far more interesting, but we all got on and it was a really nice set to be on. Charlotte, Theo and I all lived in the same building of an apartment block so we'd just pop over and hang out. Will and I were always singing; we loved a bit of Mariah Carey and Luther Vandross. We did request The Saturdays once and managed to get everybody singing along. Will also loves a bit of contemporary dance and would break into an impromptu dance at any moment.

What was your favourite experience on set?

I loved all the scenes on the couch between Molly and Ryan because they were such nice days. Especially in the second half of the series where you get to see how good friends they are. We spent the whole day sitting on the couch and it didn't feel like work. We were just mucking around and both had such an easy relationship with each other that it made it a pleasure to do.

Thanks to Julie on Baby D.

Thanks Bev & munchkin.

Everyone who works closely with Will always have such lovely things to say about him.
