February 3, 201114 yr Author This is what actually happend at the Bedlam launch night...Will has to deal with such Crap all the time. :( and yet he goes through life with a smile. bless him DavidHAllison: I see the Bedlam press launch made Popbitch this week: http://bit.ly/i7YaJx Sadly completely true. The latter question left the room gasping about 1 hour ago via webLight My Ire << Putting the willies up Will Sky Living recently held a press screening for its new haunted house show, Bedlam, which stars Will Young. Unsurprisingly, the pop star was the focus of most of the Q&A. And we got a glimpse of what it's like to be one of the only prominent gays in pop. So was poor Will asked anything about the show or his acting? Well, he was asked if kissing a girl in the series was "rubbish". (To which he rather cooly replied "Do you mean because I am a homosexual?") It got worse. He looked a bit lost when one red-top journo asked him if anything spooky had ever happened on Pop Idol. "No" answered Young. The reporter persevered, was he sure that nothing supernatural had ever befallen him? Was he really sure? Confused, Will asked him what he was getting it. "Well", said the reporter, "I guess I wondered if Simon Cowell had ever put the willies up you?" February 3, 201114 yr Author Mo and Janice are back from the Screening! :o Lordy! Lordy! Big screen lusting and groping My word, Will, you know how to undress a girl, don't you! Let's just say he put his heart and soul into that scene (with very convincing sound effects!) We thought would only see one episode at the screening but we actually saw two - when the second one started we wondered if we were going to see all six and started thinking we might miss the last train home. Certainly scarey Nearly jumped out of my seat several times! Mo

February 4, 201114 yr Author What is up with the Mail lately  http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/02/04/article-1353425-0D00BFB5000005DC-926_468x286.jpg This was going to be one of the most challenging scenes Will Young had ever filmed and he didn’t want to take any chances. So, delving deep into his underwear drawer, the former Pop Idol winner pulled out his ‘lucky’ sky blue underpants and prepared for a day of unbridled passion on the set of Bedlam, his new supernatural TV drama. ‘Unfortunately, they weren’t quite as “lucky” as I’d hoped,’ grins Will. ‘I only had one pair, which was a problem as we had to do several takes of the same scene, under the hot studio lights. By the time we had it in the can, I thought the sky blue would have faded to a pale grey.’ Fans tuning into Bedlam, Sky Living’s six-part drama about a haunted apartment block that used to be a lunatic asylum, may struggle to believe their eyes as middle-of-the-road Will, 32, gets involved in a passionate exchange with a glamorous semi-naked woman, when he’s wearing only a vest and those pants. But then the very idea of the series is shocking. Bedlam was the nickname given to the real-life 14th-century Bethlem Royal Hospital in London — a brutal institution treating the mentally ill. The building at the heart of Will’s new drama is a fictional version. You could almost believe Will has been possessed by one of the troubled spirits that haunt apartment block Bedlam Heights, as he recklessly kisses and caresses his young and attractive landlady Kate (Charlotte Salt). A bit of a shocker, isn’t it, Will? ‘I think the series has the potential to shock, although I hope you’re not suggesting it’s shocking because I am a gay man who gets passionate with a woman,’ says the singer, his indignation perhaps only partly for comic effect. ‘There are plenty of straight actors who have played gay men. Why not a gay actor in a love scene with a woman? I think it’s quite refreshing. ‘And the scene was so enjoyable to film. I don’t mind getting my kit off, and it helped I had a crush on Charlotte Salt, the actress who plays opposite me in that love scene. Just don’t tell her boyfriend . . .’ Will revealed he was gay soon after winning the first Pop Idol in 2002, but the idea of him fancying a woman is probably less shocking than some of the frights on offer in Bedlam. Episode one features a ghostly former asylum inmate attempting to drown a couple of the female residents of the posh, new apartment block using a seemingly limitless supply of grimy water Episode two features the ghost of a man, another patient during Bedlam Heights’ days as an asylum, attempting to behead one of the tenants using a roll-down garage door. (Not even Midsomer Murders has resorted to that ingenious method of killing.) Will, who plays IT expert Ryan McAllister, doesn’t disappoint when asked to come up with his own spooky tales. He says he is sharing his country cottage with a ghost, a former owner who long since passed over to ‘the other side’ but who remains doggedly in residence. ‘She’s the most wonderfully benign old lady I’ve never seen but whose presence I often sense,’ he says. ‘I’m in the process of selling the cottage, though not because it’s haunted. I’m hoping the old lady comes with me when I go!’ Bedlam, which was shot on location in Manchester, represents another foray into acting for Will. He appeared alongside Judi Dench and Bob Hoskins in the 2005 movie Mrs Henderson Presents, and more recently as a student counsellor in Channel 4 drama Skins. But he remains best known for pipping Gareth Gates to the post to win X Factor’s predecessor, Pop Idol. Will went on to rack up eight million album sales worldwide and four number one UK singles. He spent much of 2010 working on his latest album, ahead of a spring or early summer release, and is putting the finishing touches to it — as well as preparing to move. So, what’s next? ‘I’d love a break, but it’s full-on with both the music and the house move.’ Bedlam starts on Sky Living on Monday at 10pm. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/artic...o=feeds-newsxml Edited February 4, 201114 yr by Sweetwilliamfan
February 4, 201114 yr Thanks for all the articles Bev. That PB one is :arrr: When are they going to give it a rest. Poor Will indeed - he must have grown such a thick skin - poor sod. No wonder Theo was looking at his hands and Charlotte looking across at him in one of the pictures - now we know why. :( David Allison said the questions were 'banal'. I'd say they were bloody insulting. Thanks again for the Daily Mail one - I agree they've changed  . So he's selling his Cornwall house. February 4, 201114 yr Author Review here for Ep one..7/10 TV episode review UK airdate 7 February 2011 (Sky Living) A former lunatic asylum isn’t necessarily the best place to convert into a block of luxury flats – particularly given that some of the former inmates appear not to have moved out… If Marchlands has gone for the slow burn with its first episode, Bedlam goes straight for the jugular, opening with a sequence that appears to be straight out of the “I Know What You Did…” school of filmmaking before taking a sharp left turn. There’s not a lot of subtlety here, but it manages to set up the situation with a great deal less chunky exposition than other high profile series starting this month (hello, Outcasts). It’s an ensemble piece, with most attention going to the outsider, Jed, played by Theo James, who turns up in time to stop Will Young’s Ryan from getting together with his flatmate Kate because he’s received a repeated text telling him to “save her”. Assorted red herrings and what are clearly going to be ongoing plot-strands are thrown in as Jed tries to understand why he keeps seeing an image of her drowning. Hugo Speer is appropriately sepulchral as Kate’s father, the former owner of the asylum-turned-residential-dream who, we learn, has A Past that won’t stand too much scrutiny, while the younger cast all throw themselves into their roles. One to keep an eye on, as long as the producers can rein in their occasional forays into grand guignol. Paul Simpson VERDICT: 7/10 http://totalscifionline.com/reviews/6079-b...son-1-episode-1

February 4, 201114 yr Author Whats on TV interview...same as the others pretty much..do like the bit i quoted though :D http://www.whatsontv.co.uk/drama/tv-news/i...ma-bedlam/11737 Do you consider yourself more of an actor than a singer now? "I've appeared in the film Mrs Henderson Presents plus Marple and Skins and now, doing a full series like Bedlam, I feel like a proper actor. But after this, I'll be back in the studio to finish my next album. People tend to want to put you in one box but, for me, having two careers keeps me passionate about both."

February 5, 201114 yr Author He's in a couple to feature mags today..the Star and the Mail and a small mention in the sun.. apparently the star is the best one to buy so far Info thanks to Marguerite I wouldn't bother with the Sun. The picture is the same one used in the Mail and it's basically a short text outlining what the show's about and it ends, 'if the Fright Factor existed, this one would get a firm "yes" from Simon Cowell.. Oh dear how lame is that? and Nic says there's huge promo pic in the Buzz mag that comes with the Sun and an interiew with Kara with a small Will mention. and the Mail..more positivity..don't faint  There's an admirable ambition to this spooky new 6 parter, which is Sky Livings first drama commission. Will Young is a highlight as one of the residents of a block of flats recently converted from an asylum where all manner of creepiness is underway. If you've got a phobia of water, or bad art, this opener will have extra power
